One UK mom trusted that the baby products sold in stores were safe to use on her 3-year-old son, especially the ones that claimed they had more gentle formulas for sensitive skin.

Mom-of-two Nicola Redding has been using sensitive skin baby wipes from Aldi on her kids for years, and has never had an issue with the product. However, after recently purchasing a new pack, both of her small children were left covered in painful blisters.

“I have been buying and using these wipes for the last two and a half years with no problems at all. They have been fine up until then. On Friday night I wiped Mckenzie down before he went to bed. When he woke up the next morning he was covered in blisters and by the following day, the blisters had got infected,” the 22-year-old said.

“When I saw him I was just in shock, I didn’t know how it had happened. It is like nothing I have ever seen before. They were like craters. We didn’t know then, but when I started to look back I realized it must be the baby wipes,” said Nicola, whose doctor told her to stop using the wipes immediately.

Despite having the same packaging, Nicola suspects the formula has changed and is warning other parents to always check the ingredients on products you use on your kids even if you’ve been using them for years. “Amelia keeps crying and has started to walk funny because the blisters are on her leg. She keeps moaning and telling us to put more cream on,” she said. “I would tell other mums to be careful and not use these wipes.”

How would you react if a baby product that’s supposed to be safe did this to your child? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and please SHARE this with parents on Facebook to spread this mom’s warning.
