With Halloween quickly approaching, one couple has decided to take dressing up their kids to a whole other level.

Jeremy and Ali Hynek are parents to 6-month-old triplets Penelope, Ethan, and Alejandra, who for short call them collectively PEA, or Sweet PEA (a combination of their first initials). In the days leading up to Halloween, these parents got creative and dressed their kids up in costumes for the first time.

PEA is taking Halloween very seriously this year! I was trying to brain storm ideas and texted my friend Brittany from @houselarsbuilt since she is the DYI queen. Long story short, she basically made all my baby costume dreams come true when she suggested we do a baby costume series! Why pick just one when you can have 10?! You may want to tag a friend that needs some Halloween ideas like I did! We have one baby costume idea to show you for the next ten days to help all you baby mamas get some of those creative costume ideas flowing! @houselarsbuilt has all the "how to" details on her website so head over there for details!! Any guesses on our other costumes?? #babycostumeseries #threeblindmice #triplets #sweetpea 📷 @annamkillian

“I’m a new mom and was really excited about dressing the babies up for their first Halloween,” Ali told The Huffington Post. “But I couldn’t decide which costumes to pick since there were so many things we could do in groups of three!”

Ali reached out to her friend Brittany Jepson, who owns a small DIY business called The House that Lars Built, and the two worked together on a series of costumes for the triplets for Halloween.

“The most important thing to me was that we use a lot of pajamas since that’s what every mom already has in stock,” Ali said. “I wanted to make costumes that other moms felt like they could make at home or at least would invest in the PJ’s and feel like they could use them afterwards!”

Photographer Anna Marie Killian worked on the shoot, and the three women posted pictures of the triplets in their costumes on Ali’s Instagram.

“When you have triplet babies you have to be very organized so that everyone keeps their sanity, so I have very specific times that I was able to dress them up and change them so that they didn’t get to irritated,” the mom explained.

Ali continued that her newborns are used to being photographed, because she takes daily pictures of them lined up in PEA order. She does this to track their growth and take joy in the little things that they do every day.

“The idea was to use Instagram as a memory book for our family and then have the photos printed with Chatbooks as we go along,” she told The Huffington Post. “I mostly want to create fun memories for PEA as the grow up and look back at their life.”

As Halloween gets closer, these triplets costumes are serving as inspiration for other moms who want to dress their kids up in creative costumes, but don’t want to spend unnecessarily to do so.

What do you think of the triplets’ costumes?
