When Special Education teacher Kinsley French was planning to wed her fiance Josh, she had to include the most important children in her life in the big day.
According to Kentucky television station WLKY, French provides speech and occupational therapy to a group of students with down syndrome at Christian Academy’s Rock Creek campus in Louisville, Kentucky. French has developed a close relationship with her students throughout her time at the school, and when she began planning her big day, she knew they had to be a part of it.
“They were like family to me,” French said. “They were my first class and they’ve been my only class and so I knew I couldn’t have a special day without them,” she told WLKY.
Talented photographer Lang Thomas documented the big day, and it was safe to say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. The students were thrilled to be a part of the wedding, just as they were when Josh proposed. Yes, they were there too!
“It was really special for Josh and myself just to have them a part of the day, and have them come with us and celebrate with us,” French said.
French’s bond with her students is admirable, and we could only hope all teachers would be as caring as she is with her students.
