Dog Weed

A black lab named Miley confirmed the universal truth that dogs are truly man’s best friend after she brought home a pound of marijuana to her confused owners.

Most dogs just bring in the morning paper, but perhaps this one thought her family needed to like, totally chill out, dude.

According to the New York Daily News, Miley was out in Laurel, Mississippi doing her business when she returned home with a different kind of business. At first, the perplexed owners thought it was just a bag of garbage, but upon closer inspection, they found a pound of high-grade marijuana separated into assorted baggies inside the larger white bag.

After what must have been a strange call to authorities, narcotic investigators arrived on the scene and determined there was lower grade marijuana mixed in with the contents.

And because Miley can’t very well tell investigators who her connection is, it seems like the mystery of the magically appearing pound of pot will remain just that for the time being.

“They can’t really ask the dog, ‘From what pile did you get that?’” Allyson Knotts, spokesperson for the Jones County Sheriff’s Office said Monday said. “It’s under investigation, but it was a tricky incident.”

While the investigation continues, the drugs have been seized and the questions linger, like why on Earth anybody would turn over a pound of marijuana to the police. Not everyone would turn over free drugs so easily.
