Living in the age of the internet also means living in the age of hearing everyone’s opinion about every little thing.

Take, for example, the Missouri Mom who accidentally went viral after sharing a touching moment of tandem breastfeeding. Twenty nine-year-old Rebecca Wanosik has an 8-month-old of her own, so when a friend with a 5-month-old needed surgery, she reached out to Rebecca and asked if she would be willing to breastfeed her infant daughter as well.

Rebecca responded with an immediate ‘yes’ and agreed to help her friend in need. While feeding both babies, Rebecca saw the two holding hands. She captured the precious moment and then decided to share it online.

However, something beyond just love was spread. The photos went viral and were shared more than 82,000 times without Rebecca realizing it would spread so far and wide. At first, the reaction was positive, but with each degree of separation, the feedback became increasingly more nasty, until people were hurling undeserved and unwarranted comments at this Mom.

“The hand holding got me,” Wanosik, 29, tells PEOPLE. “I shared it with the other mother, and she pretty much had the same tear-jerking reaction of, oh, this is so precious. She wanted to share it with her family, and everyone was so excited that they were holding hands and it was so cute.”

But that’s not what some thought. Instead, the internet and all its rude users made sexual comments, saying things like, “‘Oh, can you feed me next?’” according to Rebecca.

“It’s hard to put into words without making it sound as taboo as our society makes it out to be, but if you don’t feed your baby, you’re neglecting their needs, and if the baby is refusing the bottle and not eating, what other choices do you have? You really don’t have that many,” the mom said. “It’s not as easy as shoving a bottle in their mouth. If they won’t take their food, you have to find another way to feed them.”

It’s additionally worth noting Rebecca owns a business where she makes lactation cookies. Her products are made with oats, flax seeds, and other ingredients thought to improve lactation. Ergo, this Mom knows quite a bit about feeding a little one.

As always, we’d love to hear your opinions in the comments. Please don’t hesitate to chime in and please SHARE this post with friends and family on Facebook.
