Daughter Receives Father’s Message In A Bottle 56 Years After He Cast It To Sea

There’s something magical about a bottle washing up on the shore with a message inside.

It holds the treasures of days gone by and whispers the secrets of the past into the hands that hold it. That’s exactly what Clint Buffington of Utah discovered when he was vacationing on the beautiful beaches of Turks and Caicos.

According to WMUR-TV, inside was a piece of paper that stated, “return to 419 Ocean Blvd. and receive a reward of $150 from Tina, owner of the Beachcomber.”

Imagine the shock she must have felt when a man she didn’t know tracked her down and handed her a letter with her father’s handwriting.

Pierce’s father had written the note as a joke and cast it into the Atlantic Ocean 56 years ago. When Buffington found the treasure, he took it upon himself to fly to New Hampshire and personally return the message to Pierce. She made good of what the note promised and provided the reward of $150.
