With Lyme Disease steadily on the rise in the United States, we have more concern than ever before to steer clear of areas where ticks may be lurking.

Unfortunately, pets are often a lot more adventurous than their owners and tend to wander off to places where they have no idea they can get themselves into trouble with biting bugs.

That’s what likely happened to a small puppy named Blossom, who was discovered on the brink of death with more than 1,000 tiny ticks stuck to her weak body. The tiny parasitic arachnids sucked out nearly all of the tiny pup’s blood, but she refused to give up and die.

When Blossom was discovered on a street nears Athens, Greece, people looked at her in disgust and no one would stop to help her for weeks. Thankfully, an animal welfare organization caught wind of the dying animal and came to her rescue.

It was then that Blossom’s heroes discovered some monster had tie wire around her tail as a newborn puppy, preventing proper circulation and growth.

Not only did Blossom loose nearly all of her blood and require multiple blood transfusions to save her life, she also had to have her tail amputated.

Although Blossom’s fate looked grim after her rescue, after weeks of rehabilitation and around-the-clock care, this once hopeless pup was healthy enough to go home with a foster family and finally learn what love feels like.

Please pray for Blossom’s continued recovery and SHARE this dog’s incredible comeback story if you love animals!
