Kevin Doyle decided to honor his late wife and Star Wars megafan Eileen in the most amazing and unique way.
The couple was only married one year when Eileen was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which Kevin describes as a “death sentence.”
Eileen passed on November 7, 2012, and Kevin felt as if he was never able to move past his wife’s death, and he describes feeling like he hasn’t yet gotten to November 8th.
The couple were both artists, and Kevin describes his late wife as a “self-proclaimed geek,” and said they even had Artuditu as their ring bearer at their wedding.
In an effort to move past his Eileen’s death, Kevin decided to walk in full Stormtrooper attire from Rancho Obi-Wan, the famous Star War’s museum in Petaluma, California, all the way to Comic Con in San Diego!
The journey was approximately 645 miles.
Kevin felt it would be cleansing, and the walk to Comic Con would be for Eileen, and the walk back would be for him.
Eileen lives on through her charity Eileen’s Little Angels, that gives gift bags to children going through Chemo.
And this “Stormtrooper” accomplished his mission.
