This club owner told this band who’s boss!
Matthew Roberts, the owner of the Convent Club in South Woodchester, England kicked Scottish musician Finley Quaye off stage during his live performance.
He says: I will not pollute this venue with bulls**t, and announces that the band did not show up for their practice, and the guitarist had his back turned to the audience nearly the whole time.
Matthew Roberts had no filter when he says this to the audience:
“And then they come, and they f**k my stage.”
And wrote this on his Facebook:
“It’s not a personal attack on the musician whom I’ve always held in high regard, and whose current lack of management of his talent I find incredibly frustrating. It’s more that my passion for live music, all that live music engenders, creates and inspires is so strong.”
Robert’s even admitted to suffering from alcoholism himself, in an effort to let the audience know that none is perfect, but in his opinion this music and performance could not be tolerated and is not up to par with the performances that are held at the Convent.
Robert’s and his wife are passionate about live music, and hope the Convent helps to keep it alive.
