A new pop-up bar in London has found a way to get people drunk without actually drinking.
Alcoholic Architecture, open for the next six months, is a bar that enables guests to consume alcohol directly through their eyeballs and lungs, bypassing the liver, allowing them to get drunk faster, and consume 40% fewer calories.

There, guests are asked to wear special protective gear that looks like a poncho so that they don’t reek of booze upon leaving.

And they are only allowed to stay in the boozy cloud for just under one hour-> 40 minutes in the cloud absorbs the equivalent of having one large drink.

The cloud is infused with various spirits and mixed drinks at a 1:3 ratio.

And powerful humidifiers keep the humidity at 140% ensuring that the cloud saturates the air, and the alcohol will then enter the bloodstream through the body’s mucous membranes- the lungs and the eyeballs.

Bompas & Parr (shown above), are the eccentric design firm that created the installation, and describes it as “the world’s first alcoholic weather system for your tongue”- a place where “mixology meets meteorology.”
Being in the cloud also means that guests can’t see anything beyond three feet of them.

Sam Bompas, co-director of the company behind the bar, describes it as “a sci-fi fantasy where meteorology and mixology collide” and “Disney meets De Sade in Barbarella’s castle by way of Medieval Times with flagons of ale!”
