Every morning Dale and his wife Rochelle would watch their son Rain get on the school bus in the morning and wave goodbye, but as Rain became a teenager that was no longer cool.

So Dale Price, a stay-at-home father of three from American Fork, Utah did what any dad would do…

He embarrassed his son!

He dressed up in a very elaborate costume every single morning and waved goodbye to Rain on the school bus.

Dale dressed up in 170 different costumes for 170 days.

He dressed as a graduating student:

Rain, now 16, remembers the first day his dad did this:

“When he did it the first day I was in shock. It’s my first day of sophomore year. You don’t want to see your dad dressing up in a wedding dress, waving at you on the bus.”

But his mortified son took some time to get the joke. And he had plenty of time- 170 days to be exact.

And because Dale’s costumes were such a hit, Dale continued dressing up for two more years for Rain’s junior and senior year of high school!

Dale quotes on his blog:

“What a dreadful thing it must be to have a dull father.” -Mary Mapes Dodge

And we couldn’t agree more.
