Are your eyebrows “on fleek” today?

A new procedure might ensure that your eyebrows are “on fleek” everyday. Microblading is the newest procedure on the beauty circuit that will save you time (though probably not money).

Here’s how it works:

As we age (or sometimes, even when we’re young), our eyebrows begin to thin out. What once resembled a tropical rain forest has become a scant desert with the occasional hair. Microblading, however, fixes that problem by filling in the sparse regions of your eyebrows.

It’s a simple cosmetic procedure:

It’s scary to hear the words “face” and “tattoo” in the same sentence, but this is a different kind of tattoo. The instrument used creates thin “tattoos” on your eyebrows that resemble hairs. But the device used is nothing like a regular tattoo instrument. It’s difficult to notice and will fool those around you into believing you were born with Cara Delevingne’s naturally robust brows.

Microblading is a two-step process:

It typically takes place 30 to 60 days apart. Step one: you have a microblading professional perfect your eyebrows with pigment, which is “applied by hand, not with a tool to ensure accuracy,” according to Lashes by Design. Step two: the pigment will have properly settled within a month or two, and that’s when you come in for a touch up. The touch up is when the instrument is used. Sounds simple, right?

So how much will it run you?

According to Mic the procedure will cost between $600 to $1200. The good news is, if Cara’s eyebrows suddenly go out of style (as tends to happen with trends) the pigment wears off in about a year and your scant eyebrows will be back in no time.

So, if you spend more than $600-$1200 a year perfecting your eyebrows each morning (including the money you lose in the form of time), it might be worth the investment. However, it you’re like me and you have fuzzy caterpillars living on your forehead, I suggest you save the money and spend it elsewhere.
