If you were looking for your daily dose of inspiration and tears, you just found it.

Tara Anderson is the director of product management at Color Jet Printing, a company specializing in 3D printing.
Tara first met Derby through the Peace and Paws adoption center, and he pulled at her heartstrings and brought her to tears. Derby was born with deformed front legs, which didn’t prevent him completely from walking, but it greatly inhibited his quality of life. Tara said she felt the need to help the poor pooch and had to do something for him. Initially, she attempted to get Derby a cart that would allow him to move more easily. However, it limited his mobility with other dogs and didn’t enable him to run easily.
Since Tara worked in 3D printing, she began to think about the ways she could design custom made legs for Derby. Her and her team worked together to provide Derby with some ingeniously designed legs that are one of a kind. Since then, the dog’s life has significantly improved.

And in case you had any concerns that the future wasn’t progressing fast enough, here’s the video of Derby, a disabled dog, sprinting on a pair of legs that were literally printed for him.
