They say fashion is art that you wear, but they didn’t specify that human beings were the pieces of art.
Rick Owen, who has previously sent exposed male models down the runway, topped himself at Paris Fashion Week recently. He sent some very flexible models down the runway for his women’s wear show. Not only were the models displaying lovely hues of beige and cream, they were also seen wearing each other.
That’s right folks: this Spring you can expect to see pastels, florals, and 6-foot models being displayed at your local Sears.
“In fashion, one day you’re in, and the next day you’re ON”
These models made it all the way to Paris Fashion week, the height of their careers.
You really have to feel sympathetic for these models. They’ve spent their whole lives struggling to get to the top of the modeling food chain (one that is abundant in everything but food), only to be subjected to this bizarre avant-garde fashion statement. It’s like hitting the peak of your career, and then placing your head in a rather unsavory place (though some may say that is the only way to reach the top).
At any rate, when it comes time to get your spring 2016 wardrobe together, consider strapping a six-foot tall woman to your torso as an unimpeachably on-trend finishing touch. Call me closed-minded, but I truly do not understand fashion. Perhaps I lack culture, but I probably just lack the muscle.
