Dear Men,
Chivalry doesn’t have to be dead.
Yes, the dating world is tough, and it’s filled with all sorts of crazy. But we know there are good guys out there- ones that are true gentleman.
And you don’t have to constantly make grand gestures for us- it’s actually the little things that make us happy.
“The motto of chivalry is also the motto of wisdom; to serve all, but love only one.” – Honore de Balzac
Opening doors
When a man opens a door for us, or let’s us walk in front of him to get out of the elevator, it shows us that he is putting our comfort and well-being first. This is a sign of a true gentleman that we all appreciate.
Bringing flowers
And not the $100 bouquet of roses that you get us on special occasions, instead the grocery store assortment you picked up just because you were thinking of us. Unexpected flowers make us instantly smile.
Spending time with our family
When you show an interest in getting to know our brother, or looking through our old baby photos, or staying for our moms cooking, we know you’re in it for the long haul. These gestures may be small, but they speak volumes.
Kissing our forehead
This just makes us feel all warm and bubbly inside. And especially when we’ve been in a relationship for a while, these kisses make us feel adored.
Putting our jacket on
Yes, we’re capable of putting our jacket on ourselves, but it makes us feel really good and taken care of when you help us with it. Not to mention, we feel like a million bucks.
Suffering through a girly movie
While we know you love your action, and sports-related movies, we have our favorites too. One night of you sitting through a girly movie and not complaining will earn you major bonus points.
Walking on the outside of the sidewalk
This is a really nice gesture. It shows us that you care about our safety, and that in the event of a curbside tragedy, you are doing your best to protect us.
Filling up our gas tank
This one is one that’s totally unexpected, and will probably be a surprise to us when you do it, but it doesn’t go unnoticed. This is one of those little things that shows you were raised right, and is always a welcome surprise.
Love,
Women
