Youtube-

You may not like to admit it, but there are things about the Biebs that you can’t help but love.

Maybe you’re embarrassed to say it, but you’re secretly watching Bieber, but shh.. no one has to know.

Whether it’s his IDGAF attitude, his awesome voice, the fact that gets any girl he wants, or maybe it’s that his fan club of Bielebers may be one of the strongest forces on the planet.

Whatever the reason, you are secretly loving Justin Bieber, and here’s why:

1.You may not like him, but you love his music.

Basically every single song, because the beats are insane.

7. And the best is that he doesn’t even need to be in his own music video.

His music video for “Sorry” was released yesterday, and he wasn’t even in it. Just sick dancers who basically killed the whole thing. If that doesn’t say boss, then I don’t know what does.

And no Justin’s not “Sorry.”

We love you Bieber. We think…

Yes, Even You Can Dare To Wear This Bold Style

You want to try a bold look, but you fear looking like you got dressed in the dark.

This is where prints come into play. It’s difficult to play around with patterns and you don’t want to have your clothes clash, but you do want to appear as trendy as possible.

With a few simple style tips we can have you on your way to teaching your plaid and polka dots to play nice together.

Go for colors that compliment each other:

Don’t let your prints play with each other; separate them with space:

This is the metaphorical “don’t make me turn this car around!” Sometimes when you’re playing with prints, the two bold patterns clash if they’re too close. To prevent this from happening, separate the prints by wearing a printed shirt, printed shoes, and a neutral pair of pants. You can also separate your prints with a slice of scandalous skin.

Choose one dominant print followed by one accented print:

Pair your prints with neutrals for a mellow vibe:

Pair stripes and plaid for a perfectly styled Fall look. Mixed prints made easy! _____________________ Stripe Swing Tunic $34 Plaid Reversible Scarf $16

Keep it simple:

Sometimes you’ll find one piece of clothing that mixes two prints. If the skirt of blouse already has multiple prints in it, surround that one item with neutral basics.

The key to mixing prints is going bold.

Whenever you choose to express yourself, you always run the risk of looking silly. It comes with the territory. Accept that not everybody will get your style, move on, and throw a fedora on your head while your at it. You do you, lady.

Genius Students Make Wheelchair That Climbs Stairs

While many public places are required to be wheelchair accessible, there are still so many places where stairs prohibit wheelchair access. This incredible two-wheeled wheelchair called the Scalevo, which was a final-year student project, could change countless lives because of its stair-climbing technology.

Miro Voellmy, a mechanical engineering student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, explained, “The great thing is that everything on this wheelchair is automated. If I want to climb the stairs I can just drive up to them, turn around, press one button and all I have to do is control the velocity I want to drive at. The alignment on the stairs, the leveling of the wheelchair driver, is automated and he can control it, he can view the back with a back facing camera, and have a full, safe, driving experience.”

Scalevo is not yet available commercially, however, the 10 students who developed the wheelchair are thinking about making a Kickstarter campaign to make the chair available to everyone.

For most people in wheelchairs, getting up stairs like this would be nearly impossible without the help of someone else.

The two treaded tracks climb backwards up the stairs, and can mount one stair per second. The chair can even climb curved stairs like spiral staircases.

The athletes may have been the star of the day at a West Virginia University football game, but to this young boy, the state troopers were the real heroes.

According to Braedon Mullins mother, Dreama, his eyes lit up as soon as he saw the state troopers on the field, as he has always been fascinated with the West Virginia police, and helping get the ‘bad guys’ off the streets.

Rather than ask for the athletes’ autographs, Braedon approached the state troopers standing guard, and asked if they would sign his football.

Powerful Before-And-After Photos Of Premature Babies

While premature babies can face difficult uphill battles, dependent on when they were born, a Quebec-based photographer, Red Methot is showing in his Les Premas photo series that premature babies often do overcome many challenges and persevere.

The photo series shows people of widely varying ages posing with photos of themselves as premature babies.

In most, the trappings of the hospital ICU are still present, as premature babies can be born with under-developed organs, and are usually held in the ICU until their organs have developed fully.

And because preemies have less time to develop in the womb, they often face a number of difficulties in their first few months of life.

Methot’s photos illustrate this and highlight the strength and perseverance these babies had in order to overcome challenges early in life.

On his facebook, Red Methot writes:

“This album shows portraits of people born prematurely that have sometimes had a difficult journey at the beginning of life. You can see what they have become.”

Stick Thin Model Speaks Out After Agency Says She’s ‘Too Big’

Although the modeling industry has lately been featuring more shapely models like Bella Hadid, it seems those instances are still the exception, not the rule.

A British model, Charli Howard, has gone viral after posting a long note to her Facebook that offers a glimpse into the real pressures of non-celebrity models. Despite being a size 2 (US), the naturally thin model was told she was ‘too big’ and ‘out of shape’ by her former modeling agency.

“I refuse to feel ashamed and upset on a daily basis for not meeting your ridiculous, unobtainable beauty standards, whilst you sit at a desk all day, shoveling cakes and biscuits down your throats and slagging me and my friends off about our appearance. The more you force us to lose weight and be small, the more designers have to make clothes to fit our sizes, and the more young girls are being made ill. It’s no longer an image I choose to represent,” were just some of the words she wrote in her post.

In her post to Facebook, Charli proclaimed “I will no longer allow you to dictate to me what’s wrong with my looks and what I need to change in order to be ‘beautiful’ (like losing one f***ing inch off my hips), in the hope it might force you to find me work.”

Charli stands at 5’8″ and is naturally a size 2 in U.S. In the past, she had whittled her already thin frame down to just over 100 lbs., but her agency still didn’t think she was thin enough.

Despite the issues she has faced, Charli still loved modeling, and hopes to find an agency that will represent her as she is.

“Ironically, I do love modeling – the people I’ve met, the places I’ve visited and I am proud of the jobs I’ve done. I will continue to do it, but only on my terms. My mental and physical health is of more importance than a number on a scale, however much you wish to emphasize this,” said Charli.

You’ll Be Stunned When You See What This Teen Did for a Little Girl

For months, an Ontario mother’s young daughter had been wanting to learn how to skateboard, but had always been too afraid because she thought skateboarding was just for boys. After months of convincing, Jeanean took her daughter to the local skatepark to finally learn.

However, when the two first arrived at the park, they were disappointed when they saw it was full of intimidating teenage boys. Jeanean’s daughter immediately wanted to turn around and go home, but she made her stay because she didn’t want to think skating was ‘just for boys.’

However, Jeanean never expected to see what happened next when one of the boys approached her daughter. Later that day, Jeanean wrote a letter to the boy at the skatepark called “Dear teenage boy at the skate park.”

‘I secretly wanted to go too because I didn’t want to have to put on my mom voice and exchange words with you. I also didn’t want my daughter to feel like she had to be scared of anyone, or that she wasn’t entitled to that skate park just as much as you were. So when she said, ‘Mom it’s full of older boys,’ I calmly said, ‘So what, they don’t own the skate park.’ She proceeded to go down the ramp in spite of you and your friends flying past her and grinding rails beside her.”

“She only had two or three runs in before you approached her and said Hey, excuse me…” I immediately prepared to deliver my ‘She’s allowed to use this park just as much as you guys’ speech when I heard you say, Your feet are wrong. Can I help you?’ You proceeded to spend almost an hour with my daughter showing her how to balance and steer, and she listened to you – a feat not attained by most adults. You held her hand and helped her get up when she fell down and I even heard you tell her to stay away from the rails so that she wouldn’t get hurt.”

“I want you to know that I am proud that you are part of my community, and I want to thank you for being kind to my daughter, even though your friends made fun of you for it. She left the skate park with a sense of pride and with the confidence that she can do anything, because of you.”

Raking up all of the fallen leaves may mean hours of tiring work for humans, but for dogs, the seasonal chore is just another excuse to have some fun.

After this family spent the afternoon raking up all the leaves in their backyard, their dog Stella decided to crash the party… and crash into the fresh leaf pile a few hundred times.

This freshly raked leaf pile provided the perfect cushion, as Stella recklessly chased after a ball during a game of fetch.

If You’ve Known Heartbreak, Listen To Adele’s New Single ‘Hello’

Adele hasn’t been around much the past four years, but we just found her lingering in an old cabin.

Early Friday morning, the master of breakup songs dropped the first single from her new album 25, as well as releasing the music video to Youtube–you’re going to want to immediately find a box of tissues.

SPOILER ALERT: it’s completely in sepia, filled with nostalgia, and it even has leaves blowing in the wind. You know the feelings are real when the leaves start blowing.

Adele brought in actor Tristan Wilds who you might know from 90210, to play her brokenhearted, former lover. What begins with the opening scene of a horror film quickly turns into a cascade of memories of the two when they went to a cabin in the woods together. Adele reminisces on the past, emotionally wandering through the long-forgotten passages of the house and our hearts.

The video climaxes with the poster girl of heartbreak fighting with her lover in the rain, before he walks away and out of her life forever. The video is like the evil twin of the Nicholas Sparks’s The Notebook.

If you can tolerate the emotion this video stirs, you are a stronger individual than myself:

Apparently, we aren’t the only ones crying over this goddess of nostalgia.

Twitter users and fans of Adele are showing sweet sadness toward the new song, the video, and the emotions it stirs. You could be flying on cloud nine right now, but this video will make you want to curl up with a blanket, write in your journal, and cry until your tears run dry, evaporate, and leave you with nothing but Adele’s hollow, yet bold voice (or maybe I’m just being a bit dramatic).

Here’s how Twitter felt about the feels:

It’s so good, Adele has us begging for a breakup:

Even Lena Dunham feels Adele’s pain:

32 Parenting Fails

Parenting doesn’t come with an instruction manual.

If you have kids or plan on having some, there isn’t a guide that will tell you how to raise a child into a productive member of society. Instead, parents are left to flail (and fail) through the experience and hope their kid doesn’t come the other end as a serial killer. Some are successful and some drop their kids on the head a few too many times.

Here are a few ways these parents scared and scarred their kids:

Kids used to be a lot tougher back in the day.

For example, some Mad Men look-alikes thought children in the 1960s were tough enough to handle Krinkles the Clown, a terrifying vision that pops out of nowhere and crinkles his way into your kitchen.

I don’t know about you, but I would not like to find this terrifying specimen hiding in my cereal box at 8 o’clock in the morning. There are few things are terrifying as a clown trying to feed me or my kid sugary cereal.

For example, your receding hairline is not as terrifying as Krinkles the Clown:

April 15th is also not as terrifying as Mr. Krinkles:

Maybe our fear of clowns has something to do with John Wayne Gacy…

Gacy raped, sexually assaulted, and killed at least 33 boys in the 70s. Before Gacy, clowns were just playing fun and games, and then he had to come around and ruin it for the rest of us. Unlike Krinkles the Clown, Gacy was not in the mood for fun and games. He sure wasn’t clowning around…

Cops are often portrayed as unkind, and mean-spirited in the news, and it’s refreshing to see their softer, more generous side.

On a cold night in Times Square, Officer Lawrence Deprimo was working when he noticed a homeless man with bare feet sitting on the sidewalk. He asked the man what his shoes size was, and then disappeared. When he returned, he had a new pair of boots for the homeless.

A tourist named Jennifer was so touched by the officer’s kindness that she snapped a photo of the interaction, and posted it to the NYPD’s Facebook.

After asking the homeless man what his shoe size was, Officer DePrimo ran into a store and bought him a new pair of boots.

7 Sleep Hacks That Will Have You Sleeping Like a Baby

$
0

Getting quality sleep is essential for your mental and physical wellbeing, but there’s more to getting a quality night of sleep than getting the recommended eight hours of shut-eye. While the amount of sleep you get is important, there are many other aspects that are to blame for constantly waking up exhausted.

If you’re having trouble falling asleep at night, or are constantly waking up groggy, take a look at these 7 sleep hacks that will have you sleeping like a baby.

7. Change your sheets at least once a week.

Your sheets might still look clean after a week, but they’re full of your sweat, drool, dead skin, oil from your body, and dust mites. While those things alone should convince you to change your sheets once a week, the build up of dust mites can disrupt your sleep, which may be why you wake up feeling groggy, and tired.

6. Drink your last cup of coffee no later than 2 p.m.

The caffeine in your coffee is sticking around in your body way longer than you thought. It takes the body about five to seven hours to get rid of half of the caffeine you consumed, and eight to ten hours to process 75 percent of it. Assuming you’re going to bed between 10-12 p.m., your last coffee of the day should be at 2 p.m.

Any later, and that caffeine will still be sticking around and interfering with your sleep.

5. Warm up your feet.

The body’s temperature needs to lower in order to fall asleep, which is why the optimal sleeping temperature is between 65 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit, but the hands and feet need to stay warm. If the feet and hands get too cold, the blood vessels constrict to retain heat, and makes it harder to fall asleep.

Try slipping on a pair of socks when you go to bed, so that the feet stay warm enough while the rest of the body cools down.

4. Control the noise.

If you live in an urban area, it might be difficult to control all the noise that’s disrupting your sleep, so invest in ear plugs to block out the noise. If ear plugs are too uncomfortable, another great way to help control the noise that’s keeping you up is to buy a fan or an air purifier that will create consistent white noise.

3. Lose the electronics – even alarm clocks.

Electronics like TVs, phones, and tablets emit blue light that makes falling asleep and staying asleep difficult. The blue light disrupts the body’s natural melatonin production, which may be to blame for your poor sleep. You may even consider getting rid of your alarm clock, or at least putting it across the room, as the light from the alarm has been proven to disrupt sleep if it’s within eyesight.

2. Make your bed every morning.

It turns out your mother was right, making your bed is actually pretty important. Not only does making your bed in the morning make your bedroom a more relaxing space, but a made bed will keep the dust off of your bed and sheets, which can cause irritation.

1. Pick calming colors and peaceful patterns for your bedding and décor.

If you want to make your bedroom as conducive to sleep as possible, you might want to rethink your décor. For your bedding, avoid chaotic or busy patterns and make sure your sheets and blankets are soft, muted tones. The same goes for the rest of the bedroom. When in doubt, remember sages, blues, whites, and grays are all great colors for creating a calming environment.
