Once a close relationship is formed between a dog and a caring owner, their loyalty can be unbreakable.
Unlike us, dogs don’t pass judgement on people. You may be down on your luck and even homeless, but rest assured, your dog will always be their for you. They will stick by you through thick and thin.
These photos are a tribute to homeless dogs, who love and stick with their homeless owners no matter what.
They offer a vital help to the homeless by providing them with unconditional in a time when much of society has turned their back on them. In addition, they can protect their owners from many of the dangers on the streets.
To the surprise of many, homeless dogs are relatively well-cared for, and homeless owners will often choose to go hungry themselves rather than see their companion go hungry.

So You’ve met a guy who doesn’t live in his parents basement and knows the difference between their, there, and they’re.
Before you start planning your wedding on Pinterest, you have to do the rounds. Don’t get ahead of yourself here. It is not socially acceptable to show up to his office with a homemade cucumber sandwich before he’s even told you where he works (which, by the way, you can find out from looking at his LinkedIn).
And don’t go and do something weird, like hire a private investigator. Because with the internet, you don’t even need one.
I mean, it’s not weird if you do it from behind a computer screen, right?
You’re going to want to start with Facebook. If he’s already added you, start with the oldest pictures first. You should probably know how emo he was in high school.
Look at his favorite books, movies, and television shows. You’ll want to store those for later.
Make sure you watch his favorite movies and television shows and read his favorite book. You can then sprinkle the conversation with all the things you have in common.
Take note of anybody who frequently comments on his Facebook status updates.
If you can’t find him on Instagram or Twitter, look up his friends on Instagram or Twitter pages. You can then back track and find his page.
Find out where he went to school. Google his name and the college he attended.
Find out what semesters he made Dean’s list (you have to know if he’s a committed worker).
Find out what clubs he joined.
Find out what clubs he partied at.
Find out the building he lived in and his former roommate’s name.
Contact the roommate to see if he snores (you can’t be dating a snorer).
Don’t follow through with number 9.
Check out the acceptance rates of his undergrad and, if he pursued higher education, his graduate school too.
Find out if he was ever in a band. Take this quiz to find out what instrument you are. Take it as many times as necessary to ensure you are whatever instrument he played.
Casually insert this tidbit into the conversation on your first date.
Leave him scratching his head in perplexity when he comes across this.
Google the population of his hometown. Small town and he got out? Good.
Analyze your agenda to plan out an acceptable timeline to text him after the first date, when to have the second date, and when to bring him home to meet your parents.
You’re also going to want to plan out an acceptable week to take off work (for the honeymoon, of course).
Whatever you do, make sure you have little personality of your own. Don’t you dare focus on your own interests or pursuits in life. Why would a man want a girl like that?
Bella Burton was diagnosed with Morquio syndrome when she was just 2 and a half years old. The rare genetic condition makes normal childhood activities like bike riding and running.
The syndrome occurs in about 1 in every 200,000 births, and can lead to organ damage, abnormal development of the bones and spine, paralysis, and heart issues. Bella mobility was already deteriorating, but then she met a 2-year-old Great Dane named George, and she was suddenly able to do all the things other kids could do easily.
Before George came along, running, riding bikes, and even walking was a challenge for Bella. She often needed crutches and even a wheelchair to get around.
“I had wheelchairs, walkers, Canadian crutches, regular crutches, and then we got George and I dropped my crutches and started to use him,” Bella said.
11-year-old Bella weighs jus 44-pound, and stands just over three and a half feet tall. She relies on George’s 131-pound frame as she holds onto a harness attached to his back to steady her as she walks.
Watch the entire video below to see how George has transformed Bella’s life.

I hope you all remembered your cell phones. I don’t want to see any pencils in my class. This class consists strictly of texting. I will be using Facebook messenger to send out homework assignments and Instagram to inform you about tests.
For this class, you are expected to keep a blog in place of homework. I need to see you posting a selfie at least once a week and your test answers are expected to be 140 characters or less. If you complete all the tasks assigned, do your reading, and move back home with your parents by the time of the final, you should have no issues being rewarded the “A” you are entitled to. After all, if you’re paying $50, 000 a year for this prime education, you should be handed out A’s.
Shall we begin with lesson one?
Step 1: Use nouns as verbs:
The first step toward being a well-adjusted, dysfunctional Millennial is using nouns as verbs. The most popular iteration of this is used in conjunction with Netflix:
I Netflix We Netflix You Netflix You Netflix He/she/it Netflix They Netflix
You will commonly hear this jargon on the quad, at the bar, in the dorm rooms, and during every other encounter you have in your daily life.
While the infinitive “to Netflix” is the most popular iteration, you will also hear your fellow Millennials use other forms. Popular examples include:
I love to pizza on Friday nights.
Would you like to coffee with me later?
I can’t go out tonight. I have to homework.
However, don’t be thrown. This comment isn’t strictly reserved for improper situations. It can be used in the professional setting too. For example, “can somebody give me a ride to the mall? I must journalism.”
Here, we see a Millennial carrying out the tone on popular social media site Instagram. Notice how she uses an adjective and noun combo as a verb here:
(instagram picture)
Step 2: Say everything is “bae,” except your actual Bae:
the key to being a Millennial and absorbing their slang is being able to understand irony. You see, no Millennial will actually use the word “bae” to describe their boyfriend, girlfriend, or polyamorous relationship.
Instead, you have to describe the following as bae:
Friday night
Chipotle (also known as Chipot-bae)
You co-worker who brings you “Chipot-bae”
Tequila shots
Your bed
Netflix
Stephen Hawking
Ryan Gosling
Your hot professor
The Allstate guy (especially when he saves you money on your car insurance)
Whatever you do, do not refer to you actual significant other as your “Bae”
The only exception is if you do it ironically as in, “I’m ironically calling you Bae because I accept that our relationship extends normal dating social conventions, but I’ll sarcastically describe you with slang that clearly does not apply to our relationship. Nobody will understand it except for our fellow ironic Millennial assholes.”
Are you confused? Good, you’re getting it.
We’ll end the lesson here for today. By next class, I don’t want to see your homework. Instead, you’ll come to class with an excuse about how how Word, Outlook, Drop Box, Google Docs, Blackboard, Hangouts, TurnItIn, and Pages doesn’t seem to be accurately working.I will assume the proper professorial role and fall for it because honestly, I don’t understand the technology as well as you.
And next class, I’d like to only see you browsing Facebook as you ignore every word I say. Understood?
As you will see from the video below, Halo doesn’t just rush and take any shot, he observes and calculates the exact angles needed for the most effective one.
The most unbelievable part is how he knows to shoot the colored balls in the holes.
You’re probably wondering how Halo knows which ball to go for. Though we don’t know his level of training, or how much he practices with humans, he may be aiming for the right colored balls on his own.
Despite popular belief, dogs can see color. They see much more than just black and white, as their color spectrum ranges mostly in blues, yellows and violets.
Halo may actually be able to seek out his next target.
Watch Halo work his magic as he makes almost every shot at the pool table:

I’m sure you’ve all heard of Seasonal Affect Disorder (appropriately called SAD), a type of depression that typically occurs during the winter when sunlight is sparse and nights seem never-ending. Well, kiddies, much like SAD, there is a new seasonal disorder (that I just made up) and I’m calling it Seasonal Existentialism Disorder (SED).
SED can be characterized by that lingering feeling you get toward the end of the year. It’s the deep-rooted nagging that something just isn’t right. Add just a hint of vodka and you’re great Aunt Clarice asking why you still don’t have a man in your life and the sufferer will tumble into a helpless existential crisis that ends with asking everybody at the company Christmas party, “what is the meaning of life?”
Here are a few signs you may suffer from SED:
1. You’re feeling the glut of holiday loneliness:
For some reason, the holidays are marked with poinsettias, over-eating, and your weird relatives asking if you’ve found that special someone yet. Oddly enough, people condemn that last one more than the other two (even though poinsettias may kill your cat).
If you find yourself over-stuffing yourself with poinsettias as you hide from those weird relatives and wonder why you’re alone yet again for another holiday, you may be suffering from SED.
2. You question your spirituality:
Because that’s really what the holidays are all about, right? We come together as friends and family to pay respect to the Supreme Being that put us here or to simply spend quality time together. Whether it’s honoring the human qualities of that Higher Power, praising miracles performed, or simply sharing delicious food and drink, we like to focus our attention on gratitude, love, and appreciation during the holiday season.
Oh, wait, what’s that you say? The holidays are devoted to paying homage to the corporate gods of consumerism? This season is one of bowing down to the bank and making sacrificial offerings from our wallets?
Hmmm…if you find yourself questioning the purpose of the holidays and fed up with the consumerism associated with them, you may be suffering from SED.
3. You question what you’re doing with your life:
The great thing about the holidays is that they align with the end of the year giving you the perfect opportunity to look at the entire chunk of the past 12 months in hindsight, while you mingle with friends, family, and acquaintances.
It’s the perfect time to reflect on where you’ve been, where you would like to go, and how you are going to spend the next year.
Likewise, it’s the perfect opportunity to lust over Stacey’s GORGEOUS apartment, listen to her prattle on about her great new job, and drown your sorrows in eggnog.
The holidays can easily make us jealous and lore us into the trap of envy. Don’t let that happen. Aim for the former here, rather than the latter.
4. You start to make all those resolutions:
“Next year, I’m going to start working out everyday, I’m not going to blow all my money on shoes, and I’m going to stop dating terrible men.
But first, I need to buy an expensive pair of shoes that will make my legs look killer at the company Christmas party so I can seduce Craig from sales, who I swear, isn’t as slimy as people say he is.”
Yes, if you are thinking these mercurial thoughts, you are likely suffering from SED.
Just think, only 364 more days till you get to do it all again.
Popular Youtube channel Shots of Awe closes with this piece of advice, and ain’t it the truth. Perhaps if you are reading this right now, you like myself, are a young twenty-something going through that stage of your life called emerging adulthood.
Emerging adulthood is a new stage that never used to exist. Back in the “good old days,” people didn’t get the opportunity to find themselves. They didn’t explore their surroundings, travel the globe, date a series of losers, have 25 jobs by 25, or “feel lost.”
Instead, they graduated from high school, went to college (if they were lucky), and usually married somebody from their hometown.
However, with this new burst of life we call emerging adulthood, we now have the opportunity to be lost and you bet your ass us Millennials are going to suck the life from this beautifully chaotic thing we call “losing it.”
So if you feel uncertain, if you think you’re about to fly off the deep end, if you’re more lost and conflicted than anybody you know, congratulations, you are already there:
The video leaves us with the important message of how necessary it is to be lost. The best part of finding yourself is the journey we go through to get to the destination, rather than experiencing the actual destination itself.

Alex and Brittney spent most of their childhood bouncing back and forth between living in foster homes and living with their abusive and neglectful mother. Yet, they were together through it all, and Alex did everything he could to protect his sister, despite being a child himself.
Unfortunately, siblings who enter foster homes tend to get split up during adoptions, but luckily Alex and Brittney found a forever home together. After taking just one look at a picture of the brother and sister, the family knew they had to adopt Alex and Brittney together.
Alex still remembers life with his birth mother, and explains he “saw her doing a lot of smoke and not paying attention to me and my sister.” Despite their situation, Alex would make sure Brittney didn’t see everything their mother put them through.
“I remember my old mom wasn’t treating me nice when I was little,” Alex said. “She was having fights. She wouldn’t see Brittney, so I’d pick her up and I’d take her to a place where the fighting isn’t happening.”
In 2010, Alex and Brittney spent their first night with their new family, and while scary at first, Alex new it felt different than their other foster homes.
“I didn’t have grown-ups that would take care of me like this — love me so much,” Alex explained when asked about his first night in his new home.

We have good news about how to get the perfect mermaid hair. The technique, known as fluid hair painting, is a unique one developed by stylist KL Christoffsen, according to Modern Salon. Christoffsen said that the technique works when the client lays down on a horizontal surface and fans their hair behind them, resting it on a coloring table.
Because their hair is fanned out, it gives stylist the ability to thoroughly look over every strand to see how the color melts from top to bottom. Additionally, the client is able to part their hair in any manner while still having multidimensional hair color. Christoffsen says he can visually see how everything will collapse together when the client sits up straight again.
The technique is a new take on balayage, the tactic we’ve been using the past few years to give our hair that ombrè look. Balayage, also known as the freehand technique, is when dye is applied liberally to a midsection of hair, combed to blend into the top, and intensified toward the bottom of the strand. It creates a cascading fade that isn’t as harsh as highlights folded with foil.
However, when using this balayage technique, hairstyles aren’t able to see all the dimensions of the color all at once. When the hair is spread on a horizontal surface, it opens the stylist up to more dimensions of color.
Veterans show their courage in many ways. This veteran showed his as he helped an injured marathon runner cross the finish line.
As Saturday’s Rock’n’Roll Marathon started in Savannah, Georgie, it became clear that the already arduous event would be even more difficult due to the extreme humidity and warmth. Medical officials implemented a comprehensive heat plan, and inspiring servicemen like Sgt. John Cain were prepared to help any way they could.
Because of the extreme heat and humidity, medical officials decided to divert many runners, however many were still able to cross the finish line.
Some runners, like this man needed some assistance with the hazardous conditions. Sgt. John Cain saw this runner fall about 100 yards away from the finish line. The runner was devastated when paramedics told him he had to stop running, which is when Cain stepped in to help.
“My heart started bleeding for him,” Cain said, “so I asked the EMTs if I could walk him to the finish line, would that be OK, and they said OK and followed behind.”
According to the 28-year veteran officer, “I helped pick him up and tears were coming from his eyes and we walked towards the finish. You could almost feel the happiness coming from him.”
In a later press conference, Cain explained that he wanted to help the man because he knew how much it meant to him. He also went on to explain how police and service men do things like this everyday, but are just never seen.

Although the recent attacks in Paris, which left at least 129 dead and 352 injured, happened hundreds of miles away, you can do more than just change your Facebook profile picture. No matter where you live around the world, there are a number of ways you can make a positive difference.
Here are the top 5 things you can do to actually make a difference for everyone affected by last week’s attacks.
5. Donate to the Croix-Rouge
Since the attacks on Friday, the French Red Cross has sent out over 300 volunteers to help survivors, and have established help centers.
To help the emergency organization, which has an active presence in Paris, donate directly to the French Red Cross here.
4. Offer your home
Whether you’re in Paris, or you’re in the United States, you can help those that have been displaced since the attacks. Not only are people stranded in Paris, but French tourists have been left stranded abroad after flight cancelations and border closings.
If you’re in Paris, use the hashtag #PorteOuverte, and if you’re in the U.S., use the tag #StrandedInUS to give someone temporary housing.
If you or someone you know is in need of a place to stay, Airbnb has set up a disaster relief tool to connect hosts and visitors in need. The company is also waiving service fees through November 17 for those affected.
3. Help Locate Missing People
While Facebook’s safety check feature has helped locate loved ones, many people are still missing.
Spread the above photo to share the information for embassies in Paris for travelers in need of support and to report missing persons after the attack.
2. Donate Blood
In the wake of the multiple attacks across the city, hundreds of people were hospitalized, and left in critical condition. If you’re in the area, donate blood to help all the hospitals that will have a higher demand than normal.
The Don du Sang à Paris app can help provide information on donation locations, and ways to help.
1. Donate to Emergency Support Organizations
The best way to make a difference in the area, if you’re thousands of miles away, is to donate to local emergency relief programs. Currently, the top organizations that have poledged to provide relief in Paris are Secours Catholique-Caritas and Secours Populaire Française.
While some of these organizations are not processing American cards, you can donate through Friends of Fondation de France, Inc. They accept American cards, and also allows you to designate a specific program and fund. Click here to donate.

Whether you are suffering from your own personal difficult time, or mourning with the rest world over recent events, it can be hard to stay positive and motivated.
With the news flooding our minds, and the devastation clearly felt, our ability to focus and be productive in work and all aspects of our lives can be hard.
The only way we can overcome this, is to live our lives with positivity and not let these challenges overtake or break us.
7 Ways to Stay Positive and Motivated During Tough Times:
1. Meditate and clear your mind
All of the news and devastation going on in the world can really take a toll on our mental health. We can get so caught up in life challenges that we don’t allow ourselves time to simply breathe.
2. Be inspired by music
Music is one of the most therapeutic and inspirational forms of relaxation. The rhythm, melody and lyrics in songs can quickly take your mind off stress and worry. Music also reminds us that we are never alone.
3. Seek support and offer your support
Don’t just hold your feelings inside. It is important to seek support from those who love and care about you. Besides, many people are experiencing the same thing that you are, so offer your support to them in return.
4. Appreciate nature
Being outdoors can be one of the quickest ways to clear your mind. Being present in the moment, breathing in fresh air and let your worries go might be just the thing you need.
5. Write down your feelings in a journal
Writing in a journal is extremely therapeutic, and it is an outlook for you to clear your mind without anyone seeing.
6. Get rid of negativity
No matter what is taking place in our lives, there is always something new to learn and a reason to smile. Surround yourself with positive, uplifting people, and be kind to all.
7. Try your best not to live in worry and fear
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” – FDR
“Worry drains the mind of its power and, sooner or later, it injures the soul.” – Robin Sharma
“Worrying about things beyond your control is a pretty good formula for illness.” – Robin Sharma
Keep these things in mind during these difficult times, and try your best to keep your head held high.
Unfortunately, Doctors and Nurses receive lawsuits today more often than a ‘thank you.’ Many of these life-saving workers dedicate their entire lives to others, however, only a few have every been contacted by a patient and been thanked for their tireless work.
Which is exactly why so many were taken off guard when this mom reached out to all the people who worked to save the life of her 14-week-old son who had been in a deadly car crash.
In 2004 Kellie, her husband, and their 14-week-old son were in a deadly car crash. Her husband was killed instantly, and Eli was in critical condition. Doctors told Kellie that if Eli even survived, he probably would never be able to talk, walk, or show emotion.
But just a week later, Eli was taken home where he grew up healthy and strong just like any other kid.
Kellie never forgot the medical team’s service, and 10 years later, she wanted to find every single person who saved her son and thank them for all that they did.
“You were just such an important part of saving his life,” Kellie told Suzy, a women on the medical team.
“I’ve never been thanked after the fact,” Suzy said. “This is really special. This is really nice.”

Gents, it’s time we have a little talk about facial hair.
Girls these days are very interested in men with facial hair. We’re throwing it back to the 1860’s and going crazy for boys with beards. It’s a trend that’s been on the rise since late 2010 and while our future selves are going to look back on our current hair trends and utter “WTF,” current us love this look.
I’m tired of looking at baby-faced boys with naked faces. I need you to man up and grow some facial hair. A beard is the perfect accessory to any outfit and a razor has little reason to be in your medicine cabinet. Don’t throw it away entirely–there are some places that still require shaving. However, your face is not one of those places and here are ten reasons why.
1. It instantly ages you while making you look young:
Beards age you in the best way possible. They make you look mature and wise, while also covering the majority of your face. Only your eyes and nose are left to shine through the blessed forest of facial hair. The beard presents your youthful laughter in your look while you have the confident radiance of your beard that says, “I have life experience. Only people with life experience can grow a beard like this.”
Women love a man of mystery. Beards are mysterious because they hide the faint lines of facial expression that shows on the skin beneath the surface. You could be hinting at a smile and we’d never know. Likewise, you might be frowning and we wouldn’t know that either. There’s so many questions lingering beneath that beard. It’s like wearing a Nancy Drew novel on your face.
3. It shows us you’re a patient person:
Growing a beard takes time and patience. Though I do not know from first hand experience, I hear growing a beard is an itchy task. Not only does it test your patience, it also tests your ability to deal with discomfort. We like patient boys who can put up with being uncomfortable.
4. Beards mean you built a house with your bare hands:
I’m going to cite The Notebook as a source here. In the beginning of the film, Noah Calhoun (played by Ryan Gosling), has not yet built (actually he restored) the house with his bare hands. Therefore, he has no beard. However, he then completes the old house and his magical and very sexy beard sprouts forth telling the audience he has achieved his purpose in life.
I think this scientific and highly accurate film is proof that beards mean you probably build houses with your bare hands. It’s fact there is nothing sexier than making love to a man in a house he built with his bare hands, preferably if he has a beard.
5. It removes your baby face:
There are those among us who suffer from baby face. I am one of those poor souls. I’m twenty-two but I’m still handed the kids’ menus when I go out to eat. (Things then get awkward when I show the waiter my ID and upon realizing I’m 22 and not 12, he begins to flirt with me.) If I could grow a beard, however, I would so I could send a clear signal to the world about my age.
Moral of this story: if you have a baby face, fix it with a beard.
6. It makes you look sexy:
I feel like I may have already said that beards make you instantly sexy, but I really can’t emphasize this enough. Bearded men are the attractive backbone of society (I don’t know how, they just are).
7. It makes you dress better:
Every outfit looks better with a beard and beards motivate men to dress better. A three-piece suit may look weird on a man without a beard, but add facial hair and that overdressed ogre just became a dapper dreamer.
Look at the casual yet sophisticated strut this bearded bro shows off:
A photo posted by DAPPER SCENE MAGAZINE⚓️™ (@dapperscene) on
8. It keeps women interested in you:
Women are drawn to bearded men. If you’re in a relationship, your significant other will feel she “bagged a decent dish.” If you’re single, the ladies will be very drawn to your salacious sex appeal.
It keeps the ladies interested long-term. Maintain your beard for a while and you’ll receive positive feedback. Suddenly shave the beard and the ladies will be lusting after you as they eagerly ask where it went and anticipating its regrowth.
9. It gives you character:
It doesn’t matter whether or not you can actually rock a guitar as well as you rock your beard. The beard itself simply gives the impression that you’re going to be playing in a Brooklyn dive bar this weekend with your electro-rap band that’s named after a prehistoric philosopher, because what’s more ironic than that? Amirite?
Simply put, the beard gives the impression that you’re the most interesting man in the world even if you are in fact not the most interesting man in the world.
10. It gives you confidence:
Maybe it has to do with the fact that you now have a furry facial mask to hide behind or maybe it’s because your masculinity is displayed on your face. Either way, men with beards are confident and confident men grow beards.
Unrelated public service announcement: boys, please stop shaving your torso. It’s weird and chest stubble is disgusting.
If you have a bucket list of things you want to see before you die, we suggest you include these awesome 22 places on it…
There are some places in the world that just have to be seen. Money, time off work, it’s all no object. As the old saying goes, “you only live once” and that being the case, you want to see and experience as much as you can in your lifetime.
So if you want to extend your bucket list, and have a few extra dollars in your pocket, as well as a very understanding boss, add these to your list. We assure you you won’t regret it…
Who can afford $30 million for a private jet? Billionaires can…
There’s money then there’s money, and this list of 20 overpriced private jets proves that some people simply have so much of it, they don’t know what to do. While $30 million may seem like a fortune to you, for these guys, it’s just a drop in the pond, as they have in some cases hundreds of millions of dollars to their name.
Some of these planes are stunning, and most likely worth a lot of money, but we feel that at a price point of circa $30 million, they are overpriced and nothing more than glorified boys toys. Okay so you can detect the slightest hint of jealousy in our voices, but we think that’s to be expected.
So without further ado, check out this list of 20, and let us know in the comments which one you’d choose if you could…
In case you were wondering where the phrase “scaredy cat” comes from, we now have the answer.
Apparently, the term was coined by the first person to stick a cucumber next to their pet cat and watch him freak the eff out.
So, why are cats so terrified of cucumbers. We are inclined to say it likely has something to do with them being dissatisfied with the taste of green veggies. However, science can’t give a specific cause for their fear of 8-inch objects too close to their faces.
Perhaps these kitties mistake the cool cucumbers for a more deadly enemy, seeing as they might resemble a snake…if a snake was found in your average salad.
Or maybe, cats are just mystical wizards we will never truly understand:
Humans, we know one thing for certain.
If you want to watch your cat jump higher than your brother as he eats an entire bag of Doritos, I suggest you place a cuke on the floor while her back is turned. Ready the camera, because you are going to want to capture this golden masterpiece.
And remember, kiddies, don’t forget the salad dressing.
You might not think these animals could ever sleep together, but they do. Besides, who doesn’t love snuggling with something warm and furry?
As Topol famously once said in the classic movie ‘Fiddler on the Roof,’ “A bird could love a fish, but where would they sleep?”
These guys don’t seem to have any problems! A good friendship, we all know, transcends all boundaries such in this case. Take a look at these 20 unlikely animal friends taking a nap together. Now how about that for trust?
Firefighters risk their lives everyday when they selflessly run into burning buildings to save complete strangers. For Patrick Hardison, running into burning buildings was just part of the job.
However, in 2001, the then 41-year-old firefighter from Mississippi suffered horrific burns when a burning roof collapsed on him, and melted through his face mask.
After the fire, doctors used skin from his leg to cover her face and head, but the burns were so bad that he lost his ears, lips, most of his nose, and pretty much all of his eyelids. Despite the constant stairs from people, Patrick continued to live his life.
This past August Patrick was admitted to New York University’s Langone Medical Center to undergo the most extensive face transplant surgery ever. A team of surgeons works for 26 hours to cut the scarred facial tissue off of Patrick, and replace it with the face of a brain-dead man named David Rodebaugh:
100 people worked in two teams throughout the complicated surgery, which the team now considers a success. Three months later, the lower part of his face is still swollen, but with more time and a few more surgeries, it will go away.
It’s been years since the accident, but Patrick will finally regain a normal field of vision, and for the first time in years, he is able to go out in public without all the social anxiety that had become almost normal to him.
Occasionally someone will notice that something is off with his face, but Patrick explains “I used to get stared at all the time, but now I’m just an average guy.”
Watch the video below to see this brave man’s incredible journey:
Can you believe how far Patrick has come since being severely burned in a fire all those years ago? Share with us in the comments below.
