Little Boy Misses Mom On Christmas. Then, A Tear-Jerking Surprise!

The holiday season is always a joyous, magical time of year, but for thousands of families around the United States and worldwide, it can also be a heart-wrenching time.

While it’s always nice to see people sending love and support to our troops and their military families, many of us forget just how much these heroes truly sacrifice to serve.

When men and women enter the military, they know there’s a small chance that they would someday have to give their lives for their country, but even that isn’t as scary as knowing they might miss out on irreplaceable, special family moments back home.

This December, Toys “R” Us wanted to send Americans a reminder of what it feels like to miss a military family member during the holidays.

In the touching 1-minute clip, we see a young boy and who we assume to be his dad doing their best to get through the seasons fun festivities.

The father-son do it all: decorate the tree, make a gingerbread house, visit with Santa Claus and there’s even a moment when we see the seemingly single dad make his son’s holiday pageant just in the nick of time.

However, we can’t help but wonder what happened to Mom…

It breaks my heart to think about all the families mourning a loved one this holiday season, as this heart-wrenching holiday commercial definitely makes you feel the sadness in this family’s home.
