There are few things more annoying and terrifying than driving along at night and seeing the dreaded flashing blue and red lights behind you.
However, when Laurie Burbine of Manitoba, Canada was driving home Sunday night from her son’s hockey game, that’s the exact sight that plagued her rearview mirror.
The frazzled woman pulled over to the side of the road wondering what could prompt such an annoying sight as she hadn’t been speeding down the icy roads. She then remembered that her taillight was out, and while her husband had promised to fix it, it was still out of order.
Burbine handed over her license and registration as per usual, but what the officer handed back was not a typical ticket.
Instead, Constable Kyle Isenor with the Ste. Anne Police Department pulled Burbine over to make her day with a rose, an unexpected gift that shocked Burbine:
