The miracle of life is a truly beautiful, amazing thing – and not many people know how extraordinary childbirth can be better than the woman who documents them for a living, award-winning photographer Robin Baker of Temecula, California.
On Robin Baker’s website Birth Blessings Photography, she shares her work of birth photography and portraits, doula services and placenta encapsulation. The photographer’s work recently went viral after she captured something extremely rare when shooting a father help his wife give birth to their twin boys.
“One of the most spectacular moments of my career was photographing this loving family birth their twins – peacefully and naturally at home in water!” Baker wrote on her Facebook page, mentioning that the photo above won the photo of the year award in Birthphotographers.com‘s delivery category.
What’s even more incredible is that nothing was unusual when the first baby boy came out, but his brother was born “en caul ” meaning he was born still inside his amniotic sac, which only happens in about 1 in 80,000 births, according to BuzzFeed.
Baker told BuzzFeed, “These parents are experienced home birthers as they had their first child at home. They had 30 minutes of bonding time with Baby A before Baby B made his way into his father’s hands still en-caul.”
