Son Sends Mom Cardboard Cutout Of Himself As A Joke: She Goes With It

I can’t stop cracking up over this mother-son duo. The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree in this family!

Dalton Ross is a college student attending Belmont University. He’s originally from Nashville, Tennessee, but he left in January to study abroad in London, a long way away from his home and family.

Upon leaving, Dalton thought up a hilarious idea: send a cardboard cutout to Mom so she would have “a Dalton” to talk to.

“I was settling in and wasn’t talking to my mom as much,” Ross told The Huffington Post. “So, I thought it would be funny if she got an unexpected package that was a life-size version of me.”

Well, the apple clearly does not fall far from the tree because Mom has a better sense of humor than her son does.

Upon receiving the cardboard cutout, Susan Tally, Dalton’s Mom, decided to roll with it and bring her “son” to public outings.

First, there was a basketball game where you can barely see Dalton, but I assure you he’s still there:

Then, she took her very skinny son to family dinner:

But she DID NOT stop there. Susan really went all out and brought him to Easter brunch:

She brought him to sporting events:

She even had him tag along with her to run errands and grab a quick snack at Subway:

When Valentines Day rolled around, she couldn’t let her son be lonely, so she set him up on a hot date:

And, she even brought it back to childhood by reading bedtime stories with Dalton:

Best part? Talley didn’t email or text these pictures to her son.

“She uploaded them as she took them to Facebook, for all the world to see,” Ross, who asked not to have his Mom’s facebook page uploaded.

Mother and son will be happily (and probably hilariously) reunited soon enough. In regards to the cutout though, Dalton said, “I definitely plan to drop off the cutout in my morning classes next semester and then go back to sleep.”
