Ball Pit Bar Brings Back The Joys Of Childhood For The Big Kid In You

Remember being a kid and having the thrill of playing in the ball pit during a trip to McDonald’s? Well one San Francisco bar is bringing this joy back with a crazy and unexpected idea.

The idea was thought up by a creative events organization called Forward Motion. The pop-up bar has a fairly simple premise: drink until you’re tipsy and then leap into a pit of rainbow plastic balls with other oversized kids while you dance to a DJs beats.

Forward Motion initially created a crowd-funding page that for some reason failed (seriously, who wouldn’t contribute to an idea this whimsical?!). Rather than going back to the drawing board, however, Forward Motion simply sold tickets to the two-day event and came up with the necessary funds themselves. After all, the ONLY necessary item was 40,000 rainbow colored balls.

And it was a huge hit:

People came from near and far to attend the hilarious event that was pure childhood mayhem. They pelted each other with balls, did the Macarena, formed conga lines, and even played limbo.

Forward Motion is already revving up for the next ball-pit bar night, this time at a nightclub named Monarch.
