On Sunday, Officers from California Highway Patrol had to chase a very unlikely suspect off a bridge.
The suspect was none other than this adorable black chihuahua.

Units noticed the small dog on the bridge’s north side catwalk, and it was heading towards San Francisco.
A motorcycle officer tried to go over to the chihuahua and pick it up but it bolted onto the Bay Bridge, Officer Vu Williams told NBC. The video below was posted to Twitter:

The adorable chihuahua kept running away from officers, but they eventually captured him by distracting him with a jacket while another scooped it up.

The high-speed chase lasted roughly five minutes.
While the animal did have a collar, it did not contain any information.

The dog has been picked up by the San Francisco County’s Department of Animal Care and Control, and if it isn’t claimed in seven days, it will be put up for adoption.
The chihuahua, which they named Ponch is currently safe and sound.
