This incredible woman has defied the statistics by living through something most people don’t often survive.

At the point of her 8-month pregnancy, Melissa Ohden’s biological mother chose to terminate her pregnancy. She was an unmarried high school student who felt she couldn’t afford to care for this child. However, when she went to receive the abortion procedure, something didn’t go quite right.

The procedure was intended to be a saline abortion, a process in which lethal saline solution is injected into the womb and terminates the pregnancy as a result. However, the solution didn’t do what it was intended to, and Melissa was born as a result.
