Careless Babysitter Places Child In Washing Machine Causing The Unthinkable

If you ever forget babies do not belong in washing machines, let the following story serve as a reminder:

This incident happened in May of 2012, when an unnamed New Jersey man was with his girlfriend known only as Sandra. According to WTVR, Sandra was babysitting a friend’s child while she was running errands of her own. The two were at a laundromat when the boyfriend allegedly thought it would be cute to play hide-and-seek and put the baby in the washing machine.

However, this unfortunately unintelligent man forgot that washing machines automatically lock, so what started as a quirky game, soon turned into a horrifying scenario of life and death.

While the frantic couple watched the machine slowly fill with water, a nearby hero jumped on the situation.

A laundromat employee, who has remained unnamed, jumped to his feet in seconds and knew exactly what to do. The employee clambered toward the circuit breaker and immediately shut the power off, heroically saving the baby’s life in the knick of time.

The whole thing was caught on camera, and the story skyrocketed to the top of the local news cycle. If this wasn’t bad enough, perhaps the worst part of this story is what followed next.

When Sakia David, the boy’s mother, saw the video on the news, she couldn’t help but wonder if the child in the fuzzy security footage was hers. He sure did look familiar. She even confronted the babysitter, who denied having any part in the incident. However, David soon discovered the truth when police showed up to her house.

The babysitter has been fired for obvious reasons and David says she would like to press charges, but the case will likely be dismissed. Since no harm came to the child and the young man’s intentions were not of malicious intention, there is little room for a lawsuit.

Apparently, you can’t prosecute somebody for being incomprehensibly stupid.
