A chimpanzee named ChaCha escaped from Yagiyama Zoological Park in Sendai, Japan today and led officers through a pretty dramatic chase.
According to NHK, the chimpanzee made his way into a residential neighborhood, alarming everyone in the area. He was on the loose for nearly two hours, and scared the living daylights out of workers when he made his way onto power lines and began screaming at them.

The agitated chimp was then hit by a sedative arrow from the back, although he did not go down immediately.
He desperately tried to escape and wound up dangling from a nearby power line.

Authorities were on the ground ready to catch him, and eventually ChaCha fell head down into a blanket.

While it’s not immediately clear if he survived, we will update you as soon as we know more.
Zoo officials are currently investigating how ChaCha managed to escape in the first place.
