Some of the best moments in college are shared with your roommates. They are the people you come home to every night, who witness every up and down, and who encourage you to skip the books and make memories instead.
These ten conversations may have been had in various level of sobriety, but are ones you’ve come to be very familiar with.
10. “Do you have my jacket?”
The not so sly way of saying “I’d like my jacket back.”
9. “Wanna go to the gym?”
The roommates who workout together stay together, right? When one roommate starts working out or eating healthy everyone starts being healthy. It may only last for one day, but for that one day the apartment was the pinnacle of health.
8. “Did you eat my chips?”
This is another one of those not so discreet ways of saying I know you ate my chips, I’d just like the validation. Chips don’t just eat themselves after all.
7. “Do you have any tampons?”
Or pads, or whatever else you use for that time of the month. When the panic sets in after realizing you’ve used your last tampon, it’s always comforting to know that when you live with other girls, it’s almost guaranteed that someone will have extra.
6. “We’re out of toilet paper again.”
We all knew it was coming, but did nothing about it. Yet again. And we all ignore the issue until one of us finally brings it up in the roommate group chat.
5. “How does this top look?”
Even if you’ve worn the top a thousand times already, you still wonder how it looks on that particular night and need your roommates approval.
4. “So where did you end up last night?”
If you and your roommates managed to never ask this questions than you deserve a round of applause. For most, this question will come up at least once after a night out. No matter how hard you all try to stay together, people start disappearing one by one like a horror movie.
3. “I don’t have any clothes. Want to go shopping?”
You have no more hangers in your closet or room in your dresser drawers, yet can’t find anything to wear. Thankfully your roommate is having the same dilemma, and is always up for some shopping.
2. “I have no money.”
Budgeting has never been a strong suit, and the aforementioned shopping might not be helping. But that doesn’t stop you from complaining about your desolate bank account.
1. “So what are you doing after school?”
The question we all dread, but can’t help but ask. You have no idea what your plans are after school besides moving back in with your parents, and are just hoping that someone else is in the same boat as you.
