Weddings are notoriously expensive affairs, however you don’t need to be a bridezilla to rack up a big wedding bill.
According to the wedding website The Knot, the price of weddings in 2014 were at an all time high. The site surveyed about 16,000 brides, and it turns out the average American wedding, not including the honeymoon, costs about $31,000.
However, The knot points out that weddings cost more in urban areas, and some (very lucky) brides and grooms have weddings thrown for them that cost upwards of $40,000. Both of these instances bring up the average cost.
