Maisie and her owner were going for a walk in a park in North West London, when suddenly Maisie smelled something peculiar.
Immediately, the 2-year-old pup began barking, so Pam gave Maisie a stick (when Maisie barks while walking, that’s usually what she wants). Although this time, when Pam gave Maisie a stick, she completely ignored it.
She then made her way over to the bushes and continued barking to let Pam know she found something.
Pam rushed to see what it was, and to her surprise, Maisie found an animal carrier with a note on top.
Inside the carrier was a frightened cat named Lily, who was left alone with no food or water.
Pam brought the cat home to give her food and water, before bringing her to The Mayhew Animal Home, which is an animal rescue organization in London.
Pam told The Mayhew Animal Home, “I felt shocked and tearful when I found Lily. Being an owner of two cats myself, I couldn’t believe that somebody could do that, and thought that her previous owner must have been in a desperate situation.”
After Lily was examined and given a check-up at Mayhew, they discovered she was 11-years-old and had a microchip. The microchip however, turned out to have the wrong details.
The most important thing is that Lily is safe, and Maisie likely saved her life. After being at Mayhew, Lily has found a forever home, where she’ll go on to live her days in happiness and health.
