When Mallory Torres’ boyfriend took her 7-year-old daughter for a ride on his motorcycle, she did not expect the backlash that was about to ensue.

A driver apparently snapped a photo of the two and posted it into a social media group. The photo shows the 7-year-old on the back of the motorcycle, wearing her pink tennis shoes and pink backpack. She was wearing a full-face helmet and holding onto Torres’ boyfriend John Hays, but that did not stop commenters from going crazy.

It enraged Torres so much that she took to her own Facebook to fire back.

“Some of you may have seen this picture on Facebook, and some of you may have even seen this in person…This is my 7 year old daughter riding home from school on a motorcycle. Yes. She’s 7, and she’s on a motorcycle. ‘Why?’ Some of you may ask… Because I love my daughter. That’s right… I LOVE MY DAUGHTER and she loves to ride, so I allow her to ride on the back of a motorcycle in full gear with my boyfriend who has 20+ years of experience.

Torres continued, “I WILL continue to keep my kids happy and pray that they are safe whether it be at school, at home, at a friend’s house, on the basketball court, or on a motorcycle. I’ll tell you what i WON’T do though. I won’t keep my child from riding just because a handful of close-minded, ignorant people think they are the definition of a “perfect parent”. THERE IS NO POINT IN BEING ALIVE IF YOU AREN’T LIVING!!!?”

While Mallory admits motorcycles are dangerous and her daughter could get hurt because there are unsafe drivers on the road, she says that the same could be said for parents who drive cars and allow their kids to play a sport. Torres, a bakery shop owner, says that everyone has their own way of parenting, so she does not deserve to be judged by strangers.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a child can ride on the back of a motorcycle if they are at least 5-year-old and wear a helmet.

WMCTV news personality “Biker Dad” Chris Best, interviewed the girl’s mom, Mallory Torres, and her boyfriend, John Hays II. Click below to watch.
