Sometimes, life knocks us down and we get back up again. Other times, it pushes us to the ground and we struggle to find our footing.
The latter happened to Dillon, an 11-year-old labrador who is back on his feet thanks to the heroes at Yorkshire Vet Physio.
The awesome veterinarians and rehabilitators met Dillon earlier this year. Dillon had recently undergone spinal surgery in December 2015. He was brought into the rehabilitation center in a sling as pictured above.
The poor beast couldn’t even stand on his own. He was unable to move both his front and back legs and could do nothing but lie on his side.
While the back surgery had been necessary, it unfortunately left him with no ambulatory skills. According to Yorkshire Vet Physio, the rehabilitators didn’t even know how well they could help with the situation. Six weeks past before Dillon was brought in for physical therapy–a LOT of time considering the extent of the surgery and work that needed to be done.
For six weeks, his owners had been carrying Dillon around in a sling, though they decided that it was now time to help the dog help himself.
And it worked! Dillon made great improvements and despite having his back operated on just a few months ago, he’s back in the action and luckily back on his feet.You can see just how well this dog is doing in the video below.
Fortunately, Dillon had somebody to help him get back on his feet when he found himself down on his luck. We’ve all been Dillon at some point, carrying ourselves through life in little more than a sling. We’ve also seen Dillon in those around us that we encounter, the friends and family members who are hauling themselves through the day with a lost look in their eyes.
