Dog Homeless His Entire Life Finally Accepts A Human’s Loving Touch

After a lifetime of loneliness and solitude on the streets, one dog finally felt a human’s touch for the very first time.

We’ve seen plenty of stories like this one about the importance of a mother, father or even a twin’s loving touch, especially early on in life and it can be no different in the animal kingdom.

That’s why when a homeless dog named Benji was reported to the amazing California-based canine rescue organization Hope For Paws, they knew they would have to be very careful approaching the matted, dirty, and terrified dog.

“Physically: he was so badly matted, covered with ticks and fleas, he bit his tongue as he was struggling to escape from us, so you’ll see a little bleeding – nothing serious,” Hope For Paws wrote on YouTube of the homeless mixed breed. “Mentally: Benji was living on the streets all his life, so human contact was so hard for him to get used to.”

The heroes wrote that they gave Benji about 3 hours of grooming and medical care before he was brought home to a volunteer’s house “where for 10 days he almost didn’t move… frozen, always looking for a place to hide, and not wanting anyone to touch him.”

What happened next was a true miracle. A dog who has always been alone will spend the rest of his days loved by a family.
