Well, it’s not a noble steed, but it’s certainly the next best thing when it comes to rescue missions.
Typically, Houston is a city that only sees 4 inches of rain in the whole month of April, however, the city was flooded with 18 inches of polluted rainwater gushing down its streets on just one very wet Sunday last week.
The city suffered damages on epic scales. More than 1,200 residents were rescued from floods while 1,000 homes were flooded in Harris County alone, and thousands were stranded in their homes.
Among those stuck without a way around was midwife Cathy Allen Rude who managed to arrange a ride on her neighbor’s swan float.
Yes, the dedicated nurse rode her frolicking fowl all the way to a truck that awaited the hilarious pair. The midwife then took a truck that waited to drive her the few remaining miles to the Katy Birth Center. Later that day, Rude helped the mother deliver a healthy baby boy.
If you admire this midwife as much as we do, please SHARE her heroic tale with friends and family so they can show their appreciation too (while they crack up at her hilarious problem-solving skills).
