Unfortunately, in the warm summer months, all animals are subject to overheating- even baby fawns.

Facebook user Rebecca Wagner shared a video of a tiny fawn who got confused and turned around when trying to follow her mom across the street. She laid down on the street, too tired to move, and she was in danger of being hit by oncoming traffic.

But luckily, Wagner and another woman blocked the tiny fawn and prevented cars from running her over as they decided who to call. Wagner wrote on her Facebook:

“Then Officer Mitchell appears out of the blue like a super hero! After making a call to his friend that knows about deer, he gently picked her up and moved her to safety where the momma could see her. We were assured that momma would go to her once she felt the coast was clear! What a nice moment in time. Thanks Matthew Mitchell! You are a ROCKSTAR in my book!”
