Baby showers may have traditionally started out as a female-only event, but today, both male and female friends and family members are expected to celebrate the special day.
When one expecting mom found out her soldier husband was going to be deployed right after finding out she was pregnant, she was devastated that she’d be on her own at such an important time, and that her husband would miss so many milestones of the pregnancy.
In order to make it up to his wife, one US Army Specialist promised that he’d get leave for the baby shower and make it home. However, he was denied his leave request because ‘men don’t go to baby showers.’
Since his request wasn’t ‘manly’ enough, the frustrated soldier decided to submit a second leave request form, but this time, he decided to play up the masculinity to see if it might help.
‘Going home to the Appalachian mountains to drink whiskey, wrestle bears, and shoot lots of guns. I also plan to grow out a beard, chop down a hundred trees with my axes and eat 10lb of thick cut bacon with my wife, who I plan to have lots of unprotected sex with, because I am a man and that’s just what we do. Football.’
Can you believe the insane reason this soldier was denied leave to go home for a baby shower? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and please SHARE this with friends on Facebook.
