An Oklahoma mother has been arrested for a crime that is sure to shake her family’s hometown and change them forever.
Jessica Lynn Good might just be the worst “bad mom” of all after being charged with child abuse and obtaining money or property by false pretenses for charitable or benevolent purposes, according to court documents from KOCO local news station.
After a tipster told officials Good might be using her daughter’s “illness” to collect money from a local church for the past three years, they discovered a sickening web of lies and corruption cast by the 32-year-old mother. The man told police that Good’s 4-year-old daughter appeared to be healthy, even though her mom has said for the past three years that she had various cancers, has seizures, is going through stem cell research and is on a heart transplant waiting list. The man also noted it was clear the girl hadn’t lost any hair or appeared to have gone through chemotherapy treatment.
Cops discovered that the mom had convinced her little girl and the community that she was very sick, even creating multiple GoFundMe pages to raise money for her daughter’s “treatment”. The church had reportedly given the mom over $5,000 over the past three years to help them. She also collected thousands of dollars from charity, fundraisers and people she had scammed.
