Being called the “miracle cat”, one resilient feline survived 32 days buried underneath the rubble as a result of a devastating earthquake that struck Italy.
A cat named Rocco was found buried in the town of Amatrice and he survived the traumatic experience by drinking rainwater. Fire officials shared the news to Twitter announcing, “Padroni felici,” which translates to “Happy owners.”
The gray and white cat in the photo below is seen reunited with his worried owner. While Rocco is the latest cat to survive the earthquake, many other animals were saved as well.

A golden retriever named Romeo was rescued nine days after the earthquake, and a cat named Pietro was saved after 16 days. Another cat named Gioia, which is Italian for “joy,” survived 5 days in the rubble before being rescued.
The devastating quake took the lives almost 300 people and left about 2,500 homeless. It had a magnitude of 6.0 to 6.2, devastated villages in the Umbria, Abruzzo, Lazio, and Marches regions, and caused about $4.48 billion worth of damage, according to Italian Prime Minister Renzi.
