16-Year-Old Nebraska Girl Faces Serious Charges After Throwing Baby Out Window

A 16-year-old Nebraska girl is being charged as an adult after she threw her newborn baby from an open window.

The teen from Omaha was accused of killing her baby shortly after delivering the child in her bedroom on September 30.

According to police reports, the girl gave birth in the early morning hours. After delivering, she immediately threw the newborn out the window. She then posted a message on Facebook, possibly looking to get away from the scene. At 3:40 a.m., she wrote on her Facebook page, “Who can do me a huge favor and has a car?” The sentence was followed by three crying emojis.

The girl’s mother became aware of the incident shortly after and rushed outside to revive the child. She was administering CPR when paramedics showed up on the scene, but it was already too late. The infant was taken to Creighton University Medical Center and pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the high school student was booked into a juvenile detention facility on Saturday for one count of felony child abuse resulting in death. She is expected to be charged as an adult, the Omaha World-Herald reported.
