A police officer in Georgia is responsible for saving the life of a 2-month-old baby who was choking to death.
In a Facebook post, Officer Kenneth Knox explains that “God” told him to do it. On Sept. 24, Knox was dispatched to a residence to help a child who was choking, he found 2-month-old Ma’Yavi Parham turning blue as she struggled to swallow cereal.
“She was turning blue and fading fast.. mom and dad tried cpr with no luck and when I arrived she was not breathing,” Knox wrote. “The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY touched me and I knew what to do. I did reverse cpr and was able to suck the cereal out of her throat and she began breathing again,” he continued.
Knox then explained that the moment Ma’Yavi smiled at him for a second and started crying was music to his ears. “Out of my 25 years being a cop this is my greatest and most profound accomplishment and it made every second of those 25 years worth it all. I am forever humbled and changed by this. little miss Parham will forever be a part of my life,” Knox said.
Knox told WTVM, “People want to know what it feels like to live without hate, with pure love and not think about race, just look at that baby’s face. That’s what I feel like when I see her face. It’s just pure love.”
It’s not every day you find an officer so passionate about what he does, and we’re so happy Knox did whatever necessary to help this little girl. Ma’Yavi’s mother, Meona Parham told the news site that Knox is a hero and she is grateful for his help.
Knox’s post of Ma’Yavi has been shared over 62,000 and he has since posted photos of the little girl to show she is doing well with captions like “my angel,” and “princess Ma’Yavi.”
