Halloween may be just a few short weeks away now, but there has been a terrifying trend sweeping the nation since early this summer that doesn’t fall into either the trick or the treat category.
As you can see in disturbing stories like this one, about a knife-wielding clown chasing joggers, or the joker-faced creeps trying to lure children into the woods in South Carolina, cruel pranksters all around the country are dressing up in clown costumes to terrorize their neighborhoods.
We thought we heard the worst of it when a mom had to fight off a clown who tried to kidnap her daughter outside a Denny’s restaurant, but what two parents in Wisconsin did to their own child might be the most terrifying yet.
Around 2:30 AM, the Menasha Police Department responded to reports of two people scaring drivers on a city street. They discovered to 20-year-old men dressed in full clown gear and a 26-year-old female accomplice driving them around. According to WBAY, Police Chief Tim Styka then discovered something awful. “They had left this 4-year-old girl home alone while they decided to go out and do their clowning activities,” he said.
Besides putting their little girl in danger, leaving her home alone for hours so they can terrorize their neighbors, the clowns also could have caused a terrible accident on the road, as they were reportedly chasing down cars during a time when many people drive intoxicated.
“People are getting tired of these incidents and we are concerned that it is just a matter of time that before an innocent prank can could end with tragic consequences,” the police chief said.
