Early on Friday, a fiery crash on Interstate 45 in Houston, TX tragically took the life of a father, leaving his two little boys behind.
The family was in a moving truck and were heading to their new home. Their mother reportedly was in a separate car up ahead. Police say that the dad lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons, and once he struck a barrier and a concrete pillar, the truck flipped.
The father was ejected from the truck and died on the scene in the wreckage. His two young boys were also in the truck when the crash happened, but officers say the 5-year-old somehow managed to pull his 2-year-old brother out of the truck.
“The 5-year-old actually advised us that he pulled his 2-year-old little brother out from the 18-wheeler wreckage,” said Sgt. James Roque. “The 2-year-old did have some severe burns to his body, but he’s at Memorial Hermann and they’re saying he’s expected to be okay.”
The older brother told police that their mom was driving an R.V. in front of them but kept going, as she was unaware of the crash. The boys should make a full recovery, but police are still investigating the cause of the incident, as all they have to go by is the words of a 5-year-old little boy.
This incident breaks our hearts, and we will be praying for this family.
