A Texas mom had the fright of her life when her son stopped breathing, but fortunately, a hero was nearby to save the day.
The awful moment was captured by a police officer’s dashcam, a moment that then turned into a heroic act. According to Granbury Police Department, who shared the scare on Facebook, the frantic mother called authorities when her son stopped breathing and became unresponsive last week.
Granbury Police Officer Chase Miller arrived within minutes of the call, even beating emergency medical services to the scene. When the call came through on the scanner, he realized how close he was to the scene and jumped at the opportunity to help.
The city honored Miller for his efforts Tuesday night, with a life-saving award during a ceremony attended by the grateful parents and the little boy whose life he saved.
This video just goes to show how important it is to know CPR and how to act in an emergency.
