One Michigan groom’s bachelor party was hijacked in the best possible way when a dog showed up and stole everyone’s hearts.
When Mitchel Craddock of Vicksburg, Michigan was celebrating his final few days as a single man with his friends in the woods, he was shocked by one uninvited guest. Craddock explains to ABC News that he was cooking bacon with the door open, when “the next thing you know, there’s this dog sitting right at the front door. She wouldn’t come inside, but she sat right there,” he said.
With no idea where she came from, the group of guys named the unidentified stray Annie. “We figured she is such a sweet dog she’s got to have a home, so she will eventually go somewhere,” Craddock told West Michigan news. Yet, without a collar, leash or anyone around, it was clear Annie needed help in the big, scary forest. “She was very dehydrated, hungry, I mean everything we gave her and out in front of her she gobbled up as fast as she could,” said Craddock.
The guys found it strange that every so often, Annie would leave them and take off barking and go to one spot outside the camp before returning again. “We connected the dots, we put everything together and we found a giant hole in the ground. So one of my friends went in head first, we found these puppies we started pulling them out,” Craddock said.
The guys were able to rescue all seven puppies who they named Bear, Knox, Daisy, Gunner, Brimmy, Rose, and Finn.
“Well, we’re washing our puppies, because they had all come out of a hole and they were all dirty, so there was a group of rough men going down to go four-wheeling, but instead they are inside washing puppies,” Craddock told Michigan news.
Each puppy was treated by a veterinarian and while they were once destined to go hungry in the woods, they now all have a forever home to go to!
