A 5-year-old named Caidon Markley achieved internet fame last week after he was recorded thanking military men in a food court in Pennsylvania.
Caiden was with his dad M.J. at Crown Center Mall, where the two were enjoying a bowl of rice before seeing a movie together. That was when they noticed soldiers having lunch at the next table, and after Caidon learned from his father that he should thank military men and women for their services, he walked straight over to them.
“I said, ‘Go over and talk to them,’” his dad recalls. “So he goes over and shakes the one guy’s hand, the first guy, and then the next thing you know he’s going around the table. I’m like, wow.”
Very impressed by his son, dad M.J. caught it on video, and uploaded the scene onto the Washington County site, where Caidon became a star. “It’s just been everywhere,” M.J. tells KDKA News. Caidon’s mom, Shannon Markley is also proud of her son, saying, “We’ve never had anyone in our family all over the internet like that before.”
As far as why Caidon walked over to thank the men, he says, “Because they make people safe,” and protect us from bad guys.
