Ever wonder where “millennials” aka “adults aged 25-34″ live in the big cities?
We’ve discovered their favorite areas with a little help from a project conducted by the Generated City at the University of Waterloo. Here, students, led by their Professor Markus Moos sought to understand the social, economic, and geographic characteristics of different age groups in the US and Canada. They conducted a project and mapped out the cities and neighborhoods that had the highest concentrations of young adults.
The highest concentrated areas are shown in dark red, and the lighter colors show the least concentrated areas.
If you are a fellow millennial deciding where to live, these cities might help you decide:
New York City

In the Big Apple, the highest concentration of millennials reside in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. And for New Jersey, millennials reside in Hoboken and Jersey City.
San Francisco, California

Out of the entire metro area, most millennials reside in San Francisco and Oakland, California.
Chicago, Illinois

In Chicago, millennials are highly concentrate on the north side, so that’s the place to be.
Boston, Massachusetts

The core of Boston has a high concentration of millennials ages 25-34 years old.
Washington, D.C.

In Washington, millennials are most common in the western neighborhoods, as pictured above.
Los Angeles, California

As you can see by both shades of red, millennials are a bit more spread out in Los Angeles.
We hope this article gave you a good idea of where millennials ages 25-34 reside. Whether you want to live near your millennials, or away from them, at least you now know where they are.
