Besides being the unofficial hipster capital of the world, Portland, Oregon is also home to a startup called Treehouse.

Treehouse is an online interactive education platform that offers courses in web, mobile and business development (basically, you can take classes that will help you get a job in business). But this is not what makes the company unique.

CEO Ryan Carson is a pioneer of radical corporate ideas because he runs his company with the model of a four-day work week. Carson has been doing this since 2006 and he says the company has seen growth and improvement as a result. Treehouse is also able to compete with companies like Google for talent, according to Carson, for this reason.

The Atlantic spoke with Carson about his unorthodox business model. Watch this CEO explain how his company works and share your thoughts in the comments below. Is this really a practical way to run a business?
