Buried Dog

When Pedro Dinis went walking in the forests of Carrieres-sur-Seine, France, with his dog, Goddess, the last thing he expected to come across was a poor dog buried up to her neck in sand, and almost dead. Pedro and his faithful pet dug for a while and gave the poor dog, Athena, water and more importantly, a lifeline. Soon after the rescue, Dinis took to Facebook to share what had happened, but what he didn’t expect was to get nearly 15K likes and shares! People were as outraged as him that a human would do this to a helpless dog, and many called for a serious penalty and even jailtime for the perpetrator. Find out what happened next…

Mom Posts Controversial Photo Of Dad Comforting Their Son In The Shower

People are used to seeing a mother comfort her sick or upset child, but everyone’s shocked the minute a dad shows his nurturing side and does the same for his children.

Two years ago, Heather Whitten and husband Thomas desperately tried to make their almost 1-year-old son feel better after vomiting and having diarrhea all night. While trying to soothe and clean their little boy, Thomas decided to strip down and hold his son, Fox, under the stream of the shower.

As Thomas sat with Fox for two hours, Heather couldn’t help but snap a picture of the touching scene. “I snapped a couple of pictures,” Heather said. “It was just beautiful. It was not surprising or anything out of the ordinary; it’s how he has always been with the kids.” Thankfully, Fox was feeling better in no time after tests revealed he had salmonella, but that scene of dad and child together left a lasting impression on Heather, who later shared the photo on Facebook.

Immediately, people began criticizing Thomas and claiming the photo was sexual, and Facebook even banned the photo twice. “I wanted to take it down just because I thought it would get blown out of proportion,” Heather said. “I thought the point was getting missed.”

Despite the criticism, Heather chose to keep the photo of Thomas, who works for the Air Force, and Fox up to show people what a nurturing father looks like. “It is okay to get naked with your son and nurture him … the important thing is really taking care of your kiddos,” she said.

“I think it would be really powerful to show my son [the picture of] him vulnerable and wrapped up in his father’s arms,” she said. The photo shows “this is the kind of man that your father is and I hope that [Fox] will see that and never be ashamed or embarrassed by it.”

While many parents have no trouble starting a family, it can take other couples many years, many fertility treatments, and even many miscarriages to finally get pregnant and start a family.

For the past four years, Macy has given herself countless hormone injections, and has had three miscarriages. Yet for the first time ever, she’s happy to announce that she and her husband are expecting a baby due this October. “Our baby doesn’t erase years of loss, depression, hopelessness, pain, tears, and crying out to God. Our baby doesn’t replace the babies that were lost years before.”

Macy felt a typical baby announcement would gloss over the struggle and heartbreak they had faced over the years and instead shared her ‘infertility pregnancy announcement’ by showing all the things they had to do to get pregnant.

“It only took 4 years, 3 miscarriages, depression, 107 hormone injections, one surgery, two procedures, over 100 suppositories, and several thousand dollars to get our baby. You might ask how I say that we’re lucky. We’re lucky because we get to have a baby,” Macy wrote in a post on her blog.

“What our baby does do is fill us with a love and joy and gratefulness that I never knew possible. When I look at that ultrasound my heart actually skips,” she said.

“For years I lived never knowing if I would ever have an ultrasound photo hanging on my fridge,” Macy wrote. “If I would ever have a bump or see that coveted stretch mark on my belly, or if the baby clothes I bought for friends would ever hang in my own home. If life would ever grow inside of me. And against all odds, it does.”

72-Year-Old Woman Gives Birth To A Healthy Baby Boy

Thanks to medical advancements, many couples struggling to have a baby and start their family have more options like In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) to help them accomplish what otherwise would have been impossible.

Older couples, however, didn’t have those options, and many were forced to either adopt or not have children. Daljinder Kaur and her husband Mohinder Singh Gill have always wanted a baby of their own, and have been trying to conceive, despite their old age, for the entirety of their 46-year marriage.

Kaur, who is now approximately 72 years old, and Gill, 79, adopted a son in the 1980s, but lost touch with him when he went to study in America. As their last hope to finally complete their family, the couple reached out to embryologist Anurag Bishnoi.

“I first tried to avoid the case because she was very weak,” Bishnoi said. “But then her medical reports were normal and she was fit to conceive.” Kaur had three rounds of IVF, and the last attempt turned out to be successful.

On April 19, 2016, the couple gave birth to a healthy 4.4lb son named Arman. “God heard our prayers. My life feels complete now,” she said.“I am looking after the baby all by myself. I feel so full of energy. My husband is also very caring and helps me as much as he can.”

Nurses Plan A Wedding For Bride With Stage 4 Cancer

Weddings are so much more than just a party for a couple to show off their love to their closest friends and family. Weddings symbolize the commitment between two people who love each other, and the intent to share a long life together, through the good and the bad.

Yet when one Illinois mom, Destini Schafer, found out she had stage four stomach cancer just weeks before she was supposed to walk down the aisle, her wedding, and everything it stood for, was taken from her. Rather than jet off with her fianceé Brandon Thomas to Jamaica to elope, Destini was sick in the hospital, fighting for her life.

When Destini’s nurse, Ashley Shipley-Lovekamp, heard about the canceled wedding, she knew she had to help if she could, and began planning a last minute wedding for the couple. “Everyone should get the wedding they deserve,” Shipley-Lovekamp said.

Destini’s condition was only getting worse, however, and doctors told the mother of three that her body was too weak for chemotherapy, so the nurses had to work around the clock to plan everything in such a short time.

In just five days, nurses helped organize the dress, the rings, the guests, the tuxedos, and the venue- the courtyard of the Memorial Medical Center. “I can’t thank the staff enough for all the kindness and great care they’ve shown me and what they did for us,” Destini said after getting the chance to walk down the aisle.

Incredibly, the wedding and the celebrations lifted Destini’s spirits so much that doctors deemed her strong enough to start chemo, and so far, she had successfully completed two rounds.

Plastic From Baby Food Blender Nearly Chokes 6-Month-Old Boy

Mom Natalie Haake was terrified when her so  Jack began to choke as he ate his sweet potato puree.

Her partner, John Paul, immediately rushed over to the newborn and was, fortunately, able to get Jack to throw up whatever it was that got caught in his throat, Haake told thesun.co.uk

“It was terrifying. I felt a hard piece of material in the food he’d thrown up – it was a piece of plastic.”

Mom discovered that a piece of plastic had apparently broken apart from Jack’s Tommee Tippee Baby Food Steamer Blender, and it wound up in his food.

Following her scare, Haake checked all the other meals she prepared for her son in the fridge and she found that many of the fruit and vegetable pots also had plastic in it. Now, the couple is calling Tommee Tippee to issue a warning to its customers or to even pull their product off the shelves.

Had the plastic spike lodged in Jack’s throat, the baby boy could have died. The concerned mom said, “I’m very worried that this could happen to a child who might not be as lucky as Jack. The machine should be pulled if there’s something wrong with it. I would never have thought this product would be unsafe.”

“You would never think to look at a child’s food before feeding them after using a machine you trust to be safe,” Haake continued.

Haake adds that she purchased her Tomme Tippee three weeks ago, so it was fairly new. “Other mothers won’t know about this unless they are warned. I know mums and dads who have bought this item from Tommee Tippee and they have stopped using it,” she said.

Tommee Tippee manufacturers have launched a full investigation following Haake’s concerns, and they will examine Haake’s blender, as well as issue the mom a refund.

Have you ever had a scare similar to this with your child?

Any woman who has given girth can tell you that every pregnancy is a deeply personal and unique experience.

As you can see in this story about a mom who had her third child in a hospital parking lot, not every pregnancy goes as planned and every mom-to-be is different. Australian physiotherapist Liza Edwards knows her body better than anyone, so when she first became pregnant with her son she decided not to drastically alter her exercise routine, which involved a lot of time on her surfboard.

[Nikki JLeigh Photography]
[Liza Edwards]
According to TODAY, 31-year-old Edwards, who is from Brisbane, has been an avid surfer since she was 15 and surfed up to 28 weeks pregnant with her son. That’s why the second time around friends and family worried the surfer mom would risk injury her unborn new baby by surfing into her third semester.

[Nikki JLeigh Photography]
[Nikki JLeigh Photography]
Edwards said her mother pushed her to stop surfing and consult with her widwife, who ended up giving the mom-to-be a surprising response.

“‘Look, enjoy your surfing,” her midwife advised. “Just know [your] limits, take caution, and be sensible.’ I was pretty excited to tell my mum that news,” Edwards told TODAY Parents in an email.

[Nikki JLeigh Photography]
Edwards said she loves surfing because of “The freedom, the challenge, the thrill, the time away from the duties of being a mum and — a huge factor — the social interaction out in the waves with my other equally excited mum friends.”

Hero Rescue Dog Is In Critical Care After Saving 7-Year-Old From A Rattlesnake

While the majority of humans wouldn’t dare put up a fight against an animal like a snake, one heroic dog has proven once again why man’s best friend is so deserving of that title.

Much like this rescue dog who refused to leave the side of his lost 3-year-old pal, a German shepherd named Haus came to his best friend’s rescue after a venomous Eastern diamondback rattlesnake appeared in his family’s backyard.

Adam DeLuca of Tampa, Florida told the Miami Herald “It shows you that a rescue dog, for us, paid it forward by protecting my family,” after the dog he adopted saved his 7-year-old daughter, Molly, from the rattlesnake.

[GoFundMe]
[GoFundMe]
Haus was bitten three times and had to be treated with anti-venom and painkillers at the Intensive Care Unit of Tampa’s Blue Pearl Emergency Veterinary and Specialty Hospital.

Luckily, after hearing the canine hero’s story, good Samaritans have come to the family’s rescue, donating close to $50,000, which was more than $22,000 more than their goal, to help pay for the dog’s intensive care.

[GoFundMe]
[GoFundMe]
According to Miami Herald, every day the dog spends in the ICU costs up to $1,500, plus $618 per vial of anti-venom, which he needs about 5 vials of every day until the poison leaves his system.

Even though the family rescued Haus from  local organization Heidi’s Legacy Dog Rescue  just two months before the terrifying accident, they say they will do anything to keep their daughter’s hero alive.

[GoFundMe]
[GoFundMe]
“He just exceeded our expectations all the way around,” said AdamDeLuca. “Right away, the kids were hugging and loving on him, he always took it, he never did anything. Whenever anyone came to the door, he would start barking and try to be protective. He has just been an amazing dog.”

Dog Stolen 2 Years Ago Is Overjoyed When Reunited With His Owner

Our dogs stick with us through thick and thin, so it’s always difficult when we lose them or see them suffering.

However, what’s even worse is when a dog is actually stolen away from their, giving them no idea whether their best friend is alive or dead.

Much like this shocking story about a pet parent who had to jump through hoops to get his stolen dog back, a Wisconsin man named Jose says he is grateful for reuniting with the dog who helped him through some of the worst times of his life after two very long years. According to Fox 59, Jose told rescuers he adopted his dog chaos as a puppy after he became homeless, divorced and living in his car. “Chaos helped me through so much in my life, I took him everywhere with me!”

In a video that has gone viral after being posted to Facebook by Winnebago County Animal Services, Jose finally reunited with his Chaos after he randomly wandered into a shelter worker’s driveway. After two years, Jose understandably said “I didn’t think I would ever see my dog again,” but soon realized that the universe found a way to return his best friend.

“I was speechless and I couldn’t stop smiling. I just couldn’t believe it,” Jose told Fox 59. “I couldn’t get to the shelter fast enough.”

Jose said after his long-lost canine companion rested his head on his shoulder during their drive home and he had just one piece of advice for other pet parents: “Pay the microchip fee!

Man Miraculously Dodges Death When He Jumps Out Of The Way Of A Mack Truck

If you can make it through the following video without covering your eyes and writhing in second-hand shock, I commend you.

The following videos come to us from Travis Meyer. He and his motorcycle crew have some stellar guardian angels watching over them. I’ve never seen anything like this before.

These guys frequently ride together, and they’ll even attach cameras to their helmets to show cool images of their ride. However, on this particular occasion, these guys caught more than a beautiful sunset.

When a dog ran out in front of the bikes, Dan Seubert, one of the men, went down and tumbled directly in front of a huge Mack truck. Seubert was surely a goner, yet he somehow managed to roll out of the way.

“Don’t show Mom,” was what Seubert was quoted saying when his father watched the incredible footage. Somehow, this guy managed to dodge death and a truck and we are floored by the awesome footage.

Take a look for yourself:

There’s another version of the video pictured below, which was captured by a fellow rider who also had a GoPro and saw the incident from his camera. Be warned however…there’s a little bit of unedited language in the video (but we’ll forgive the boys because I’d be swearing like a sailor too).

If you believe in guardian angels and know these men had one by their side, please SHARE this incredible video with friends and family.

Internet Slams Mom For Texting While Breastfeeding, But She Defends Her Behavior

Perhaps you’ve heard of the trendy new slang ‘brexting,’ a term used to describe when a mother texts while breastfeeding.

[Getty]
[Getty]
While many mothers have been quick to jump on the bandwagon and gang up against mother’s who partake in this trend, Emma Pickett, Chair of the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers, ardently defends her texting habits, even when they take place while nursing.

“Having a new baby can be an isolating time for a new mum,” says Emma on Good To Know.

“It can feel like you are the only one struggling through this steep learning curve of feeding problems, sleep issues and worrying about this little new person who depends on you for everything.”

She continues by saying “many of us live away from our families and our phones are a portal into a world of friends, reassurance and knowledge.”

“Brexting isn’t simply texting. Time on your phone is time with your Facebook group of mums sharing your challenges and successes. It’s also a door into a world beyond parenting: the local newspaper, the article on international events, a reminder of things that mattered to you before baby arrived.”

She concludes by posing a question: “would we say to the mother reading a novel, don’t do it when you are feeding your baby?”

[Getty]
[Getty]
Opponents would scream a resounding, ‘yes!’ They would say doing anything besides looking at your child while breastfeeding results in them feeling less emotionally secure. Infants seek to connect while they physically connect, and breaking this bond at so intimate a moment is unhealthy for their small and developing mind.

What are your thoughts on the issue? Please tell us your opinion in the comments and SHARE this mother’s thought-provoking argument on Facebook.

Police Shatter Window To Accidentally Rescue Lifelike Doll Locked In Hot Car

Here at LifeDaily, we love a good story about a hero. We marvel at those who put others first and aspire to be just like those who go out of their way to make the world a better place.

But never have we heard of police smashing windows to save a plastic doll..at least, not before today. That’s because an officer with the Oakland Police Department in California is now getting heat for saving a ‘baby’ trapped in an inferno.

HT_fake_baby_rescue_01_mm_150901_4x3_992

However, it wasn’t actually a baby. It was simply a plastic doll that looked extremely lifelike and appeared unresponsive. In my opinion, the only thing more terrifying than an unresponsive baby locked in a hot car, is responsive doll locked in a hot car, but that’s an article for another day.

Officer Johnna Watson of the Oakland Police Department told ABC News, “although this incident did not involve a baby or small child, it was unknown at the time.” He continued by saying “first responders’ number one priority is to ensure … safety.”

I’m just glad the officer was quick to overreact rather than being slow to underreact. You never know if one day that doll will actually be a baby. If you value all the first responders out there, then please SHARE this funny and oddly inspiring story with friends on Facebook.

If he asks you to sign a prenuptial, do you run?

Spurned bride and Corporate Vice President at New York Life Insurance Yiru Sun felt like it was an unfair requirement when her husband-to-be asked for the contract. And when he called off the wedding as a result, she paid it forward by hosting a luncheon for 60 needy children from New York.

The couple had been planning on hosting the ceremony at the elegant Harold Pratt House on Park Ave, and they had already set down an $8,000 deposit.

[John M. Mantel]
Unable to get that money back, Sun decided she might as well pay it forward. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade. “I should have been the bride. It was canceled,” Sun told her guests at the elegant banquet. “Initially I felt frustrated,” Sun told New York Post, while refusing to dish about her former betrothed, including even admitting his name.

[John M. Mantel]

“I don’t want to sign things I don’t feel comfortable with,” was simply all she said regarding the proposed arrangement.

“Three weeks later, I woke up with this idea,” Sun said. She herself is a single mom of a 6-year-old daughter. The idea was to invite guests who were choosen with help from The Salvation Army and Inwood House.

[John M. Mantel]

“At that moment, I started to think it was God’s plan,” she said of turning her misfortune into a great party.

“I cannot be the princess of my wedding day, but I can give the kids a fairy tale.”

Police Officers can often get a bad reputation in the news for being more like the bad guys many of them are.

However, as you can see in this heartwarming story about a little boy who invited a bunch of cops to his birthday to party to thank them for all they do, we know there are many brave men and women who go above and beyond the call of duty in many ways.

In a photo that has gone viral since being posted to Facebook by Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, we see a beautiful example of this.  According to the Facebook post, “Officer Tim Purdy was dispatched to a situation involving a young autistic high school student who left the campus and may have been suicidal.”

Because of the teenager’s neuro-developmental disorder, he occasionally displayed violent behavior and his school feared the worst. When the teen was discovered, Officer Purdy decided he needed to make a connection with him and sat down next to him, trying to talk things out.

“Officer Purdy established trust and a relationship that allowed officers to get this young man the help that he so desperately needed.”

The police officer was able to get through to the disabled teen, talking to him in a way he so desperately needed and even got him to start laughing.

To us, the last part of the post about this kindhearted officer says it all. “There’s more to policing than making arrests and enforcing the law. Sometimes taking those extra little steps makes the biggest difference in someone’s life.”

A security camera picked up an incredible image recently. A young child was waiting for the school bus outside a convenience store. He loiters for a few moments, dragging his feet in a circle, before wandering just to the right of the frame.

Seconds after moving away from the fence, the unimaginable happens.

The young boy narrowly escapes death when a car hurls itself through the fence and glides over the spot he had previously been standing. Nothing short of a miracle motivated this child to move when he did. I hope he went home that night and thanks his lucky stars because he should not be alive right now.

It looked just like any other house on the well-to-do residential estate in Tennessee. A leafy neighborhood with a good community and friendly enough neighbors. But when an electric company employee showed up to deal with an issue, he was chased off the property by a man with a shotgun. This naturally aroused suspicion, and local law enforcement made the necessary preparations to carry out a raid on the house. When they arrived and ventured into the basement of the house, they were shocked at what they found, and with good reason. If you’re sick and tired of the internet dating culture, you aren’t alone. Many of us are, especially this quaint pair of seniors who found each other the old fashioned way: a blind date.

I’m sure you’ve had an awkward date in two in your life where a friend sets you up and then you spend an hour and a drink coming up with something to talk about.

Two kids, Miriam Steiner, 93, and Harold Sharlin, 90, recently had a similar situation, though I hope they left out the awkward small talk stating where they see themselves in five years.

The two met for a blind date at Politics & Prose bookstore in Washington, D.C., and their story has since gone viral.

It all started when Sharlin’s granddaughter waited on Steiner in a restaurant, according to TODAY.

“My Jenny was so impressed with Miriam’s pep and vigor that she said, ‘You’d make a great date for my grandfather!'” Sharlin told TODAY.

So Sharlin and Steiner set up a date to meet at a bookstore. When Steiner told the staff he was looking for his date, they found it so cute, they had to snap a picture.

Sharlin and Steiner became widow and widower in the late 90s. While he has toyed with dating here and there, this was her first time back in the game since the death of her husband.

“I loved him, and I didn’t look for anyone else after that,” she said. “But I said, all right, what have I got to lose?”

“I’m a conversationalist,” Sharlin said. “I like to sit and talk. I like having a woman in my life.”

The two were simply glad they had the opportunity to meet people and converse.

“It’s not easy, making connections as a senior,” Steiner said. “But we need it … We’re both in our 90s. We’re both handicapped. Neither of us drive. It’s up there with Medicare and Social Security. I hope people remember that.”

Dating can be tough, but it’s not impossible to find romance in the resold book’s store. So there you have it folks. If you know somebody who would find this story interesting, then please SHARE to spread these warm fuzzies along.

5-Year-Old Girl Has A Breakdown When She Hears Her Brother Will Grow Up

Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 11.54.35 AM

5-year-old Sadie Miller just made a discovery about her baby brother, and she isn’t taking it well at all.

The discovery: her brother would one day grow up and no longer be a cute, tiny baby. We all cope with the inevitability of change in different ways and sooner or later, we all realize that we are one day destined to die. Dying is just a natural part of living.

Yet, we get by with these truths in different ways. For example, a 50-year-old man coming to terms with this realization might cope by buying a sports car and dating a younger woman. Sadie Miller dealt with it by throwing a temper tantrum fit for a child with the mature realizations of an adult.

“I don’t want to die when I’m a hundred,” the child wails as she looks at her baby brother.

I’m assuming this is the first time Sadie has dealt with the unavoidability of change, but it certainly won’t be the last. Sorry, cookie, but this is life. We flower and then was fade. God allows the lucky ones a hundred short years in the sun followed by an infinite period of mystery.

The most we can do with that time is live life to the fullest. We can travel the world, love with all our hearts, sing, dance, and savor what short time we have. Or we can cry about it…but that’s no way to live.

If you believe life is a precious gift and if you value the short span of time you’ve been given, please SHARE this adorable video with friends and remind them of the value of time too.
