Young Elephant Mimics Mom In An Adorable Attempt To Break Down A Tree

[Rumble]

Have you ever seen a mentor do something inspiring that you thought you could mimic, only to try it out for yourself and discover you aren’t the mature, “adult” you thought you were?

Something relatable happened to a young elephant calf recently. A viral video that came to LifeDaily courtesy of Rumble, shows a baby elephant mimicking Mom.

Elephants in the animal kingdom are known to rub against trees with their tusks. It’s something the young calf would have seen a hundred times. According to this long, dry, and boring textbook, “elephants can break substantial tree branches to get at fresh outer twigs and leaves.” Essentially, they do it looking for food and water contained within the bark.

However, when this elephant made an attempt to take on a tree, he found himself in deeper than his trunk could reach. The baby struggled with the too-tall tree for a few moments, as babies tend to do. Then, he moved on to other, more interesting assortments the jungle has to offer, because that’s what babies do.

If you find this baby interesting, then please SHARE with a big baby in your life that will get a kick out of the little one below.

They say kids these days spend too much time in front of the television playing or playing video games on the computer. However one child has racked up more hours in the sun in 4 short years than most of us do in 20.

That’s because she’s spent her short life out on the water catching waves and riding the surf. 4-year-old Aviana Zizi is a pint-sized surfer who went viral when the video of her first big wave went viral. Now she’s riding the wave of virality, as her video trends across the World Wide Web.

“It was fun because I like going in the water,” she said stating the obvious, as kids do so well.

“Very proud papa,” said her father, Mark Zizi. “She’s riding the wave and laughing the whole time, and I’m laughing as I’m chasing her”

The talented tot has been surfing with her father, who is a Los Angeles City firefighter, since she was 2 years old – riding along with him as he taught her how to hang ten.

“I’d put her on the front of the board, paddling out with her, going slow then she’d get really excited and was hooked right away, basically,” he said.

[ABC 7]
[ABC 7]
Aviana has been practicing her moves in the family’s swimming pool, manuevering her board and standing up in shallower waters.

“I just have such a love for the ocean and decided to share it with her, and she found her own joy in it and wanted to get out there without me even asking her to do it,” her proud father told local news.

She looks like a seasoned pro and she’s only 4-years-old. We have high hopes for this little girl. If you think this impressive girl is a real rock star, then please SHARE with friends and family!

Baby Boomers Show Millennials What ‘Old’ Looks Like In Shocking Video

[AARP]

Baby boomers are the generation that is redefining what it means to be “old.”

Never before have we seen so many vivacious people staying active well into their 70’s, 80’s, and beyond. Check out, for example, the article that shows this 90-year-old grandma who rocks a bikini on vacation simply because she can. She’s still got it going on!

As a social experiment, AARP brought in a group of Millennials and asked them to define old. We’re assuming they were actors who were brought in for an audition. What they didn’t know was that they were about to become a part of a neat test.

After they clearly displayed their outrageous, perceived images of aging, these Millennials were introduced to some awesome golden oldies.

And they only get better with age!

The “kids” quickly got a well-earned lesson in humility, especially when a few of them couldn’t keep up with their aged counterparts. After the experiment was conducted, ALL the participants said they had some serious misconceptions about what it means to age and they agree that youth doesn’t just belong to the young

This video is awesome and it really made me rethink my own misconceptions of youth and aging.

If you are excited to take life by storm well into your triple digits, then please SHARE with friends and family to remind them that age is just a number and youth does not belong to the young!

Mom Learns An Important Life Lesson From A Simple Stack Of Cookies

Have you ever been too eager to judge and then regretted your jump to quick conclusions?

Too many times, I’ve done this in my own personal life, and I know I’m not alone. The following story came to us here at LifeDaily following a popular parable we shared last week. These kinds of stories are sweet and inspiring, and sometimes they even change lives. Despite not knowing their origin, we still feel their impact, because their messages ring true in our hearts.

This particular story speaks of a Mom named Mary who runs her own business and juggles a lot of responsibility.

Image is a recreation meant to reflect true events [Shutter Stock]
Image is a recreation meant to reflect true events [Shutter Stock]
One day, Mary found herself at the airport rushing to catch a flight. Despite the hurried goodbye she gave her family and the rushed instructions she tossed to the cab driver, Mary still had no control over the weather and her flight was delayed an hour.

Frustrated, Mary huffed her way into the airport lounge where she ordered a strong cup of coffee and a package of warm, chocolate chip cookies.

The lounge was crowded that afternoon. Her flight wasn’t the only delayed one and she stood in a sea of vacationing couples, business people, and children with Mickey Mouse ears. Mary found a table that was occupied by just one man wearing a sleek tie and staring at a tablet.

“Mind if I join?” Mary asked quietly.

He met her eyes and gave her a polite nod, though he continued with his own task.

Mary pulled out the contents of her bag, setting down her computer, cell phone, notepad, and a daily planner.

As Mary scrolled through her emails, her blood pressure began to rise. There were issues that were out of her control and they were causing pressure to drum through her temples. She reached absent-mindedly for one of the warm cookies that sat just behind her computer. They had been cooked mere hours ago and she felt their gooey goodness drip through her soul with warmth as she ate.

Mary sighed with relief as she ate the cookie, trying to focus less on the future and more upon the present. Looking up, however, she saw the man at her table had just helped himself to one of her cookies. He nodded politely again as he pulled one of the cookies from the stack.

Mary didn’t want to say anything for fear of being rude, so instead she simply focused on her computer again, but as she reached for another cookie…he did too.

There were nine small cookies wrapped in cellophane, and with each cookie Mary grabbed, so did the man. Growing increasingly more frustrated as time passed, Mary wanted to say something, but found herself at a loss for words. Finally, with just one cookie left, the man reached forward, split it in half and gave her the last half of HER last cookie.

Too angry to eat and ready to board her flight soon anyway, Mary stood and packed up her belongings.

“I’m sorry, but some people are so rude,” she said as she threw her raincoat into the crook of her elbow.

“Yes,” the man said, “but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worthy of love.”

Perplexed and baffled by his audacity, Mary slung her leather backpack over her shoulder and made her way toward her gate.

Upon arriving at the plane, she reached into her backpack to pull out her cell phone, but instead her cuticle bitten fingers grazed over sticky cellophane. Mary looked into her bag and felt her heart sigh with sad realization.

Mary pulled out a neat wrap of chocolate chip cookies, still warm from the insulation of her purse.

In her haste, Mary had failed to notice the cookies on the table belonged to the man. While she had been carrying a heart heavy with frustration and stress, the man had simply pushed his cookies her way and even split his last cookie with her.

Knowing it was already too late, Mary’s heart broke with the realization that dawned on her. She put her phone back into her bag and stared out the window as the plane broke through gray clouds and into the glow of a setting sun.

Mary’s story is one all of us can relate to in one way or another. If you believe all people are flawed, but still worth of love, then please SHARE this story and remind those around you of the importance of kindness and counting your blessings.

Mom And Dad Find Son Crying And Abused After Leaving Him With A Babysitter

Being a parent is a full-time job, but every once in a while even parents need a night off for themselves without any temper tantrums, spit-up, or dirty diapers, which is why parents will pay good money for a reliable babysitter.

One Oregon couple, Joshua Marbury and Alicia Quinney, were in desperate need of some baby-free time and called up their regular babysitter so they could have the night to themselves while their 1-year-old son Jacob was safely being looked after at home.

Mom and dad were having a great time on their date night, but when they arrived home, they found their babysitter asleep and their son screaming. They weren’t happy with what they found but it was nothing compared to what they found the next morning.

When Jacob woke up the next morning, bruises had appeared all over his body, including one on his face in the shape of a hand. However, two months has passed since the traumatic night and police refuse to file charges against the babysitter since Jacob can’t speak and say what happened.

“TWO months ago if not longer my 1-year-old son was smacked across the right side of his face by our babysitter (keep this person anonymous) to the point where MULTIPLE doctors (who in fact showed us hand prints) and the detective said it could have killed him,” Joshua wrote in a post to Facebook in response to the police’s failure to file charges even after the babysitter confessed.

“Something needs to be done. NOBODY can just hit a child and more to just get away with it because the child can’t verbally tell you,” Joshua wrote in his post, which has been shared over 250,000 times.

Pregnant Mom’s Crazy Cravings Have Her Eating 2 Bottles Of Bubble Bath Each Week

Pregnant women are known for having some pretty intense and pretty unusual food cravings like pickles with ice cream, but they’re nothing compared to one Liverpool mom’s pregnancy craving.

Like many other pregnant women, 33-year-old Zoe Eastman had been taking extra time to care and pamper herself while pregnant, and had been relaxing in a bubble bath when she suddenly had the urge to eat the bubbles. “When I first fell pregnant, I enjoyed pampering myself in the bath with soothing lotions. I’d try different products, but it wasn’t until I was 20 weeks pregnant that the craving to eat bath bubbles started,” Eastman said.

“I came across Radox Muscle Therapy, and I couldn’t get enough. I would put the bubbles up to my nose and inhale. The experience was invigorating and soon I started tasting the bubbles. For some strange reason, I loved the consistency,” Eastman said.

Eventually, Eastman’s fiancé Mark walked in on her eating bubbles during one of her three baths per day, and her friends found out about her strange craving. As soon as they did, they urged her to get to a doctor to test her blood to see if she was deficient in iron, which can cause people to eat things other than food.

Fortunately, her blood work came back completely normal, and the doctor said her crazy habit wasn’t harming the baby. “After Indie was born, the craving stopped straight away and when I tasted the bubbles it was horrible. The taste was disgusting – I nearly vomited. I wanted to see if I still liked it, but it tasted like soap,” Eastman said.

“It’s probably a good thing the craving has gone now, as these days having a toddler leaves me with no time to soak in the tub – I’m lucky if I get five minutes in the shower.”

Dallas mom Candace Panye has broken Facebook’s records for the most views on a video after a video of her wearing a Chewbacca face mask went viral.

The mom of two of two explains in her Facebook video that she took a trip to Kohl’s to buy yoga pants, but after feeling discouraged, she walked into the toy section to buy a gift for her kids.

Payne told Good Morning America, “ I walk through the toy section and I accidentally bump my shoulder into this box. And I had seen this before, but I didn’t realize it made sound until that moment. It accidentally started making the growl, and I went, ‘I need to get that. Like, I don’t think my kids need that, I think I need that.’”

Payne purchased the Chewbacca toy mask, and said that once she got in her car, it was calling from the bag.

“I was thinking, ‘I’ve got 30 minutes before I have to be responsible and pick up my children from school and once they see this I’ll never get to see it again,’” she recalled. “So I thought, I’m going to share this with my Facebook friends and family, and if anybody wants to see it, they’re going to have to see it now. And I’m going to document. This was mine to begin with. This was never theirs.”

And all of Facebook tuned in! Payne posted the video of her trying on the Chewbacca face mask to Facebook, and it has already received over 137 million views.

Payne captioned the video, “It’s the simple joys in life,” and it showcased her enjoying a good belly laugh as soon as she put the Chewbacca mask on her face.

She told Good Morning America, “I feel like I deserve a gold medal, just to say that I actually have broken a record that deserves maybe a podium and a whole song and maybe some flowers.” But most importantly, Payne is happy that she was able to share joy with other people, saying, “In all honesty, I think the world as a whole is in need of a good laugh.”

“I had one lady message me and tell me she has an autistic daughter that hadn’t laughed in two months, and she said every time she showed her the video, she laughed and laughed. And from one mama’s heart to another mama, to see a child laugh that you haven’t seen laugh, those are the stories I will take with me every day,” Payne said.

While young kids do need more sleep than the average adult, nap time isn’t just a necessary part of the day for the kids. Parents need naptime just as much as the kids, but while the kids nap, parents use the time to get chores done and have some peace and quiet.

Mommy blogger Judy Travis, who blogs under the name ‘itsMommysLife‘ had just put her almost two-year-old twins Miya and Keira to bed for a nap, and was using the quiet time away from toddler patrol to straighten up around the house.

While passing by the baby monitor, Judy couldn’t help but check in on her two little girls. She was used to hearing them talk a little to each other as they fell asleep, but when she looked at the camera now, she saw Keira had gotten up out of her crib and was walking around.

Soldiers are taught to never leave behind their fellow man, no matter how difficult or life-threatening the situation is, and when this soldier was forced to leave behind a puppy he adopted while on duty in Iraq.

Army Specialist Ken Wyrsch was stationed with a Kurdish military outfit in Iraq when he found and adopted a puppy named Ollie, who became the camp’s loving mascot. “He was there when we left on our missions, he was there when we got back,” Wyrsch said about his loyal companion.

About a month ago, however, Wyrsch and the rest of the soldiers found out the camp was shutting down, and he was being sent home, and while he was thrilled to see his loved ones back home, he realized that meant leaving behind Ollie.

“You don’t leave a friend behind, can’t do it,” Wyrsch said knowing Ollie probably wouldn’t survive in a country that treats animals so poorly. “Some Iraqi would use it for target practice or something,” he said.

With the help of SPCA International and thousands of dollars in donations, Wyrsch organized for Ollie to be sent to the United States to live with him, and he is finally back where he belongs.

“This right here was thousands and thousands of dollars of donations that went into this dog, you know?  He’s a good boy. He’s worth it,” Wyrsch said.

Soldiers are trained to handle any situation and pride themselves on being able to do pretty much anything they set their mind to, which is why Specialist Christopher Garrett was so devastated when a combat injury left him disabled.

Garrett was a combat engineer with the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division, but was shot one night during a mission while deployed in Afghanistan and left 100% disabled. “He was shot through the lower abdomen, and the bullet exited his right butt cheek. He took the bullet while on a night mission in Afghanistan,” wife, Brittany, said.

Since being forced to retire, Garrett returned home where his job is to be a loving husband and father, and despite his injuries and the pain it causes him, he is determined to maintain his home and even mows the lawn once or twice a week.

One morning, Garrett went out to mow the lawn when he spotted a riding lawn mower with a letter.  “As I was getting ready for my day, my husband appeared at the door with tears in his eyes holding our son,” Brittany wrote in a post to Facebook. “My heart sank and I thought someone we love took a trip to Heaven….He quickly assured me that no one had died, but someone had just given him a very expensive riding lawn mower!”

The stranger left no name, but only a note that read: “I hope this saves time for the things that matter most in your life. Thank you for your service and for my freedom. Sincerely, A grateful American.”

I don’t know who they are, but they have been watching my 100% combat disabled husband push mow our entire yard once or twice a week, and thought this would help make more time for the important things in life!!! THANK YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE!!! You don’t know how much pain this is going to save him from!!!”

Parents are supposed to protect their children from harm’s way, which is why there’s nothing harder for a parent than knowing their child is sick or in danger, and having no way of protecting them or keeping them safe, which is why one

Last June, A.J. Robinson Brown’s 6-year-old daughter named Finley was diagnosed with kidney cancer, and she couldn’t stand the fact that there was nothing she could do to take the pain away from her daughter and make her feel better. Yet by December, Finley completed her final chemo session, and has been cancer-free ever since.

Despite being overwhelmed by everything her daughter had just gone through, A.J. and the family thought they were finally free from cancer.”Our family thought we were done with cancer for years, but it turns out we weren’t,” Finley says. “My mom got it too on her leg; skin cancer on her leg.”

While A.J never wanted this to happen to her, she was surprisingly grateful that she was the sick one this time and not her children. “A year ago, I might have felt sorry for myself for the physical discomfort that comes from something like this. Interestingly, though, I’m finding myself feeling much more philosophical about the pain. I wouldn’t CHOOSE it, of course, but oh my gosh, it’s so much easier to go through it myself than to have to watch one of my children go through it,” she wrote.

But when this tough mom does struggle with her recovery, she has the perfect coach standing right beside her. “I want you to try your best,” Finley told A.J. “And if you fall, I’ll help you get up and just keep on going.”

“I was so overwhelmed by pride and gratitude for them that I could barely see straight,” A.J. said after Finley and her son Cooper fed and dressed themselves, cleaned their rooms, and insisted she rest. “So, Cancer, you’ve really given me the greatest of gifts. You’ve given my cubs a chance to shine.”

While hospitals normally stick to their strict set of rules to ensure patients’ safety, doctors and nurses often bend the rules for patients who have reached the end of their lives, so that they can go as peacefully and as happily as possible.

This isn’t the first time 65-year-old Robert Gonzales has landed in the hospital, as the Vietnam veteran was shot and became paralyzed during the war, but now doctors fear it might be his last visit because of a series of life-threatening infections.

Despite becoming paralyzed in the war, Gonzalez continued to train and race stallions in Texas. “He loved horses, he loved cattle, he loved ranching and farming. He was proud to serve his country,” wife Rosario said.

Gonzales was used to spending almost every day with the animals that he loved so much, but he hadn’t been able to see them  during his 10-month stay at the hospital. Knowing his condition was getting worse, he told his family that the only thing left that he wanted was to see to see his beloved horses one last time, and the hospital was happy to help organize it.

“When we know that they’re at the end of life, we try to make them as comfortable as possible,”hospital spokesman Lupe Hernandez said.

Gonzales’ family brought a pair of horses named Ringo and Sugar on a 150-mile journey to the hospital, and immediately started kissing Gonzales’ face when they saw him. “He was aware of the horses being there and opened his eyes,” Hernandez said. “The horses were kissing him.”

Two 12-year-olds, Stella Usiak, and Lucas Lowe, may have met in an unlikely place, but their relationship is like any other young couple in love.

Stella and Lucas both suffer from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and they first met in the hospital when they started battling this very rare disease. Lucas tells WGRZ, “She’s had a crush on me for a while now, and I’ve had a crush on her, so her and me are boyfriend and girlfriend now.”

Lucas describes Stella as kind and nice,”like a woman should be.” And Stella says Lucas is a gentleman and hilarious.

The couple may be going through things that many other people including adults don’t understand, but they do understand each other. Roswell Park Registered Nurse Angelica Zachary says, “No one really knows what a kid with cancer is going through- not the parent, not the nurse, not a friend- the only other person that knows what a kid with cancer is going through is another kid with cancer.”

From the beginning, the hospital staff, along with Stella and Lucas’s family has watched their special friendship grow.

‘It was like this cute little old couple, sitting on the porch. It’s very rare that kids their age could kind of have that sort of compassion for each other,” said Stella’s mom, Jennifer Usiak.

“She just wants a boy to like her,” Usiak continued. “She just wants someone to make her feel special.”

And Lucas does just that. Whenever Stella is feeling down, Lucas knows just how to lift her spirits. He’s even gotten her a ring on Valentine’s Day that says, You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. “It means a lot,” says Stella.

The kids technically aren’t supposed to kiss without masks on, Lucas says, but Stella kisses him anyway, on the cheek.

Mom Is Arrested For Letting 11-Year-Old Son Drive Golf Cart

Julie Mall, from Charlotte, North Carolina, was vacationing with her family on Bald Head Island when their idyllic trip quickly turned sour.

Mall told the Charlotte Observer that she allowed her 11-year-old son to drive a golf cart two blocks black to their rented cottage, with his father sitting beside him.

They were almost back to their cottage when a police golf cart with flashing lights pulled them over, and “Immediately he started berating us,” Mall said. “He was saying ‘How old is this kid?’ ‘Are you guys drunk?’ ‘I could write you up for child abuse,’” she continued. Her son burst into tears, and Mall asked her niece to take her kids back to the cottage.

Mall admits she was wrong and was aware that the legal age for driving a golf cart on the island is 16, but she says the officer was aggressive, and repeatedly accused her of being drunk.

“He lunged across at me, twisting my arm behind my back. I’m hysterical. I’ve never been that scared of anything in my life,” Mall told the Charlotte Observer.

When her husband, Scott Mall, returned from the cottage, police told him to stand back, so he took out his cell phone and video tapped the seen. “As soon as I came up there, I saw him start coming toward her. My reaction was to film it so we’d have some proof because I knew this wasn’t an up-and-up situation,” Scott says. But then, “It became a frightening situation,” he continued. “It escalated out of control.”

Mall was put in handcuffs and taken off the island on a ferry and ended up spending hours in police custody. She was charged with resisting public officer and misdemeanor child abuse. Officer James Hunter said in an arrest report that Mall was drunk and truly, but when he didn’t show up for two court dates, the case was ultimately dismissed.

Vet Student Finds Tick On Sick Dog 1 Minute Before He Was To Be Euthanized

After returning home from a camping trip, owners describe that their sheltie seemed increasingly lethargic and weak.

Owners, Al and Joelle, had recently taken their 10-year-old dog, Ollie to visit Umpqua River and Eastern Oregon, and other than a bit of hip pain in prior years, Ollie was healthy and active.

The couple took Ollie to his regular veterinarian for some testing and after conducting a full range of tests, including blood work, a urinalysis, and a variety of X-rays, the vet couldn’t find any reason for Ollie’s diminishing health. The following day, Ollie got even worse- he was almost completely paralyzed and unable to eat or go to the bathroom on his own.

Al and Joelle had to make the difficult decision to put Ollie to sleep on May 4, just two weeks after their trip.

“We were at a complete loss,” Al told DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital. “What do you do in that situation? He is part of our family, and we’ve always tried to provide the best care we can for him.”

But, as Neena Golden, a visiting veterinary student, prepared Ollie to be euthanized, she took a moment to comfort him, and while scratching his ears, she found a tick.

Shortly after, Dr. Adam Stone diagnosed Ollie with tick paralysis, a rare condition he has never seen before but learned about in school.

“I had never seen a tick paralysis case. It’s one of those things you learn about randomly in school – it’s on one slide during one presentation.” It is so rare that only one other vet professional at DoveLewis had ever seen a tick paralysis case,” Dr. Stone said.

Doctors removed the tick and shaved Ollie to make sure he didn’t have any more ticks on him, and if this was, indeed, tick paralysis, Ollie would show improvement in few days. Sure enough, Ollie began moving that night, and everyone was astounded by his quick turnaround. Al told ABC News, “That was just amazing in itself, that this dog recovered so quickly.”

He says he credits the doctor and student with saving Ollie’s life. Al told ABC,

“He was one minute away from euthanasia. The doctor walked in and remembered that he heard about this in school. He told me it was just one little thing, one slide, and they mentioned it and [that] it was rare, and that was it. He had never seen a case before in his career.”

Now, Ollie is “bright-eyed, active, [and] chasing the squirrels around,” Al said. “He has a spring in his step that he hasn’t had in quite a while.”

Al believes Ollie’s recovery is a true miracle.

Have you ever heard of tick paralysis

Sisters of Four Decades

When Nicholas Nixon first snapped a photograph of his wife and her three sisters, he saw a very special bond. The project became so much more than just a yearly photograph. The Brown sisters, thereafter, began a yearly tradition of Nixon taking their picture, standing in the same order. It spanned across four decades and became an intimate look at the tight bond of sisterhood. The collection is to be featured at the Museum of Modern Art, as well as a publication titled, “The Brown Sisters: Forty Years”. Here are 40 pictures of sisters together every year for four decades

This was the first of pictures taken for the project. The girls ranged in age from 16 to 26 at the time. The sisters looked so young and fresh faced here.
