Have you ever heard a goat make any kind of sound?
Unless you live on an animal farm, you probably don’t interact with goats very frequently. Most of us no longer wake up in the morning to milk the cows and herd the goats. However, if you do work with animals or you frequently find yourself around goats, then you know they make bizarre sounds.
Goats are known to scream like an actor in a horror movie:
A few goat experts spoke with Slate on the matter and told them yelling is not uncommon for goats. They have a wide variety of reasons for screaming and yelling. “Mother goats call for their young when they get separated,” explained goat specialist Dr. Daniel Waldron of Texas A&M, and “young kid goats also call for their mothers.”
Additionally, goats will sometimes yell when they want to be fed. If they see another goat in a nearby pen receiving food, they get angsty and yell because they want some too.
And when it comes to the funny sounds goats make, we found one particularly odd goat:
This one isn’t yelling for food nor is he screaming bloody murder. He’s simply asking for attention and doing so by imitating a chicken. The humorous animals mimics both the motions and the clipped sounds a chicken makes when it clucks.
