Megan Hejlik is a happily married nurse and mother of two boys from Iowa, who has recently gone viral in her search to complete her family.
“I’ve had some reservations about posting this, but putting myself out there! PLEASE SHARE,” the 30-year-old from Sheffield recently wrote on her Facebook and Instagram accounts along with a photo of herself holding a sign explaining she was looking for her birth family.

Megan was born at Mercy Hospital in Mason City in 1985, the same hospital where she currently works. All she knows is that her mother was a teenager and immediately gave her up in a closed adoption to her parents Jack and Cheryl Eno. “She named me Vanessa,” Megan wrote.

In an interview with ABC, Megan said finding her birth parents was always in the back of her mind, but she has always known one thing. “I think she did the best thing for me, giving be a better chance at life through adoption.”
The heartwarming post has since been shared on Facebook about 9,000 times, with people from all over the country wanting to help and writing comments filled with hope. “A reason why I’d like to meet her is to hear her story,” Megan told ABC, explaining that she’d also like to tell her she’s now a mother herself.

“I just want to let her know that there’s no hard feelings. I think it’s great what she did, honestly.”
